Mama June and Stroud first became an item in October 2021 when they visited a tattoo parlor and the reality star got new ink. She introduced Stroud to her fans as her "new boo," but didn't mention his name at the time.

Honey Boo Boo And Pumpkin Break Silence On Mama June's Wedding

During an exclusive interview with E! News, Honey Boo Boo and Pumpkin opened up about their thoughts on their mother's nuptials to Stroud, admitting that they also stumbled on the news like the rest of the world.

"We didn't know about it," confessed older sister Lauryn 'Pumpkin. Recalling how she first suspected something was going on, the 22-year-old said,

"I actually got a receipt in my PO Box that said she had applied for a marriage certificate. Then I asked her about it just recently. She denied it. And then eventually she was like, 'Oh, I got married' and we were very, very shocked."

Honey Boo Boo, on the other hand, corroborated her sister's remark. She revealed that she never imagined a day would come when her mother would walk down the aisle again, following the traumatic end of her romance with her ex-spouse Mike 'Sugar Bear' Thompson.

"It definitely did catch me by surprise because Mama was always one to say she would never get married," said the 16-year-old. Nevertheless, the "Toddlers & Tiaras" star maintains that her mom has obviously changed.

"But I mean, my mom now, she's definitely different," Alana remarked.

As for how they feel about not being included in their mom's special day, Pumpkin said, "If she feels like we don't need to be a part of that, then it is what it is."

Although the girls refused to comment on how they felt about Mama June's new husband, they didn't reflect any animosity towards the matriarch who described her union to Stroud as "so spur of the moment."

A source close to the family revealed that the girls were prepping for a meeting later this month to discuss the prospects of the new show. They were reportedly planning a trip to Los Angeles where the meeting would hold and Pumpkin would travel with her husband Joshua Efird.

Honey Boo Boo would also be accompanied by her boyfriend Dralin Carswell. Details of the proposed reality show are unknown but it will follow Honey Boo and Pumpkin and how they deal with the dramas of their daily lives.

Rumors suggest that Honey Boo and Pumpkin's plan to have a show of their own comes in response to Mama June losing custody of the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star.

Amid Mama June's marriage new, Pumpkin was granted sole custody over Honey Boo Boo, with her mother to pay $800 monthly in child support until her younger sister turns 18.
