'Fantastic Four' Star Kate Mara And Husband Set To Welcome Second Child Together

Actress Kate Mara is expecting another child with her husband, Jamie Bell. The couple met each other as far back as 2014, and by 2017 they were engaged and married in a private ceremony.

The marriage made Mara a stepmother to Bell's eight-year-old son from his previous marriage. Their first child together was born to the couple in early 2019. The three-year-old's name is kept private from the public.

The actress took to her social media page to announce the pregnancy by posting a photo of her and her husband standing side by side with a cute caption.

Mara and Bell are getting ready to receive the third addition to their household. The "House of Cards" actress announced the news on her Instagram page on Sunday by posting a picture of her and her husband holding hands.

In the snapshot, the 39-year-old had on a short pink dress with silver designs while Bell wore a plain black suit. She captioned the post, "There are three of us in this pic." Several fans and celebrities went to the comment section to congratulate the couple and send their good wishes.

MJ Rodriguez wrote, "Omg, congratulations, cutie." Jenna Dewan and Octavia Spencer also congratulated the couple, as well as Andrew Rannels. Famous fashion designer Johnny Wujek added, "The cats out the bag. Johnnys a fairy godfather again. Can't wait. Congrats, my loves."

In 2019 Mara and Bell welcomed a child whose name has been kept away from the public. When her daughter arrived in May that year, the actress posted a picture of her feet to celebrate the birth. The post was captioned, "We had a baby a couple weeks ago… Here are her feet."

While talking on Dr. Berlin's Informed Pregnancy Podcast, the 39-year-old revealed that before her first child with Bell, she had previously suffered a miscarriage. The actress explained that the reason stemmed from a blighted ovum. The condition mainly occurs when an already fertilized egg fixes itself on the uterine wall but doesn't develop beyond that.

While recounting the period of her life, Maya described it as "weird." She also mentioned that the excitement she had for that pregnancy and the pregnancy that brought about her daughter had "very different dynamics."

The actress said, "It was weird, this bitter or sweet sort of … I was so excited, but also sad that we weren't as excited as we were the first time, because that was clear that it was a very different dynamic."

Mara and Bell first met each other while they were acting on the set of the "Fantastic Four" back in 2014. They were seen together at the Met gala a year later and started sparking romance rumors.

By 2017 they were engaged and then married in Los Angeles in July. Mara announced the ceremony on her Instagram page with a picture of them kissing on a dance floor during the wedding captioned "Nuptials."

Bell shared a similar post on his Instagram account about the wedding. The couple reportedly got married across the street from their house. In an interview with James Corden in 2018, Bell admitted, "We actually got married right across the street from our house. I literally woke up in my own bed and walked across the street, and we had our ceremony."

Due to her role as both mother and wife, Mara revealed that she started thinking differently before taking up movie roles. Besides her child with Bell, the actress is also the stepmother of the actor's eight-year-old son, Jack Matfin Bell. Bell had Jack in his previous marriage with Evan Rachel wood which lasted from 2012 to 2014.

The 39-year-old revealed that after marrying Bell and becoming a stepmother, there was a certain layer of anxiety that surrounded her whenever picking movie roles.

"Eventually, she's going to be able to look at the work I've done. And now more than ever, I want it to mean something and for there to be a point to it. Sometimes you do just have to work for money. Sometimes you're lucky enough that you can make choices based on more than that," she explained.
