Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi rocked the reality TV world last month when she announced that she is retiring from “Jersey Shore.” She joined Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola as two original cast members who will no longer appear on the series.
But now another member of the “Jersey Shore” family is campaigning for Sammi to come back and fill the void left by Snooki.
“I said this in the beginning — like, years ago — that [Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola] should return, but she’s living her best life,” Angelina Pivarnick told Us Weekly. “She’s getting married soon — good for her. She looks so amazing.”
Over the summer, Sammi posted a statement on Instagram about her decision not to return to the show for “Jersey Show: Family Reunion.”
“I have chosen not to join the show because I am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and relationship. I am not the same person as I was [sic] 22. At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations,” she wrote in the post.
Snooki announced her retirement on the It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey podcast.
“OK, you guys, I love you so much, and don’t hate me for my decision, but I have to do what’s best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from Jersey Shore,” Polizzi said. “I am not coming back to Jersey Shore [Family Vacation] for a season 4, if there is one. And there’s a lot of reasons why, but the main reason is really … I’m just like, I just can’t do it anymore.
“I hate being away from the kids,” she said. “I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. And I wanna be home with the kids. You know, like, I don’t mind here and there going to a dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show.”
Pivarnick made it clear after Snooki’s announcement that she is not leaving the show.
“I’m not quitting the show,” she told Page Six.
“I don’t know what the future holds for me with everything, but I like the way things are coming out — it’s just that one thing,” she said.
