The author, who has always been vocal about her opinion on parenting, expressed her distaste for Musk’s and Cannon’s pride in fathering plenty of children with several mothers.
She called out the pair in an Op-ed piece on the Daily Mail, labeling them creepy cult leaders and slamming their “Impregnate The Planet” mentality.

Meghan McCain Called Them ‘Creepy Cult Leaders’
The former “The View” host wrote a scathing op-ed on the Daily Mail to express her distaste about Musk and Canon fathering multiple children.
The article expressed how the pair came off as creepy cult leaders in their bid to repopulate the planet by having many offspring.
“This ‘impregnate the planet’ mentality is creepy and comes off like the actions of a cult leader more than an altruistic person who wants to expand their family and save the planet,” McCain began.
Meghan called their mindset “very impersonal, fatalistic, and dystopian,” adding, “The premise of his argument that we need to have as many children as possible is flawed and unrealistic. I continue to be skeptical of Musk and his intentions in general, as I am with anyone who claims to be coming to save us.”
“Elon is the wealthiest man on the planet; he certainly can largely do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, and however he wants, but don’t for a minute think that ordinary Americans relate to this at all,” she concluded.
She also called out Cannon, pointing out that he “fathered four babies in a year” and then jocularly likened his manner of procreation to that of a ‘seahorse.'”
She Wrote Her Op-ed After Elon Musk Welcomed His Twins
McCain wrote of Musk’s Twitter exchange with Cannon after news broke that Musk fathered twins with one of his executives, Shivon Zilis, in November 2021. This came a month after the billionaire welcomed his daughter via surrogacy with singer Grimes. He and the singer also share a son, born in 2020.
Musk confirmed the news by tweeting, “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far. I hope you have big families, and congrats to those who already do.”

Cannon then chimed in, tweeting, “Right there with you, my Brother!”
Musk replied to the father-of-seven, “Congrats on your family! We must expand the scope & scale of consciousness for civilization to flourish & understand the nature of the Universe. Consciousness resides most strongly in humans; therefore, we need more people!”
Although the tweet had been long deleted, it sparked a strong emotion in McCain, who called the tweet exchange the “creepiest tag team thread” in history. She also added that it was “flat out weird.”
“I don’t care how many times Musk eviscerates cancel culture and wokeism. I don’t care that he is ‘supposedly’ buying Twitter to save it from the bots and thought-police, or colonizing Mars to save the human race.”
Elon Musk Shared That He’ll Be Supporting His Employees Who Have A Large Family Unit
Despite the strong emotions evoked by the Tesla founder’s tweet, he appears to be more concerned with playing his part for the population. He recently tweeted that he’ll be making moves to support his employees who have large families by increasing the childcare benefits at his companies significantly.
“Kids are worth it if at all possible. I’m planning to increase childcare benefits at my companies significantly,” the billionaire tweeted on Friday.
Musk added, “Hopefully, other companies do the same. Also, Musk Foundation plans to donate directly to families. Hopefully, details will be announced next month.”
Elon Musk And Nick Canon Share Several Children With Different Women
Cannon shares 11-year-old Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He also shares five-year-old Golden and one-year-old Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell; and one-year-old Zillion Heir and Zion Mixolydian with Abby De La Rosa. He lost his son Zen, whom he shared with Alyssa Scott, to a brain tumor at the age of five months.
In addition to the twins Musk shares with Zilis, he and ex-wife Justine Wilson share eighteen-year-old Vivian and Griffin and sixteen-year-old Saxon, Kai, and Damian. Their first son, Nevada, died from sudden infant death syndrome at ten weeks.
