Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons said "I do" over the Fourth of July weekend in Jamaica after dating for six years. A rep for Dunst confirmed the news to Page Six stating, "I can just confirm they got married. No other details will be given." The source also said that the wedding took place at the GoldenEye Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This tropical location has been well known for inspiring creative people.

Life Imitating Art for the Couple: From On-Screen Husband and Wife to Real Life

The actors met back in 2015 on the set of the FX hit series, "Fargo" and ironically played a married couple on the show. They started dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2017. In 2018, they welcomed their first child, Ennis Howard Plemons, and then in 2021 welcomed another son, James Robert Plemons. Dunst, 40, told the Los Angeles Times earlier this year, "We call each other husband and wife. But we have to get married at this point. It's ridiculous." She said the pandemic and having her second child stalled wedding plans. "There was COVID, then we had another child," she said. "I didn't want to be pregnant, get married, have a party and not be able to have fun with everybody."

At Dunst's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in August 2019, Plemons, 34, recalled his thoughts after the first meeting with the actress. He said, "Immediately, without too many words being exchanged, I looked into her eyes and saw the beautiful, sweet, unguarded, welcoming human being that she is." Dunst explained to the New York Times how she felt when she first met Plemons. "We were two people who worked very similarly, and it felt like a soulmate. I knew he would be in my life forever." She also gushed to the Los Angeles Times in 2021 saying, "He was like a creative soulmate to me and the way we both work. On 'Fargo,' I knew after two weeks. I didn't remember saying this, but one of my best friends told me that I said to her that 'I will know this man for the rest of my life. I just know it.' Just because I felt such an immediate connection."

Working Together and Getting Nominated Together

Dunst and Plemons were both in "The Power of the Dog," Jane Campion's western thriller, and in fact, both received supporting Oscar nominations for their performances. They once again played a married couple on screen. Since they were both child actors and in this business a long time, they will often help each other out with their craft. "We mostly give each other ideas if we have them. If I had to laugh, he'd do something funny off camera so I'd genuinely laugh," she explained. "If it's my coverage, I'll ask him after a take, 'What else should I try?'"

Dunst told USA Today back in February that Plemon's Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination gave her more happiness than her own nomination. "It was like I could release my joy more with Jesse's nomination than my own, for some reason? I just can't believe we got nominated together for the same movie," she explained. "It sounds like an old-fashioned thing that wouldn't happen now. It feels amazing to have that as a family and for our families. Everyone is so excited."
