In an Instagram post shared on Friday, Simone wrote, "Medal of Freedom 🎖 I’m so honored & thankful to be recognized as a recipient by President Biden for this prestigious award. I still have no words. I’m shocked!"

Although many fans, friends, and teammates took to the comments to offer their congratulations, not everyone was celebrating. In fact, attorney Jenna Ellis, who is known for her work as a member of Donald Trump’s legal team, took to Twitter to slam Simone and Megan Rapinoe.

He added, "You lost 63 lawsuits and got farted on by Rudy Giuliani."

One angry tweet from a fan seems to have caught Simone's attention. The tweet read, "Jenna Ellis calling Megan Rapinoe and Simone Biles losers is f---ing comedic gold. Especially since those two women have 9 Olympic medals and all Ellis will be known for is Rudy Giuliani’s fart recipient."

Simone clapped back: "who is Jenna Ellis? Asking for everyone."

However, some fans didn't understand where the drama was coming from. Jenna replied to one confused user, tweeting, "Because Biles is a selfish quitter and Rapinoe is a boorish unAmerican bully. They’re losers, not role models. Biden is making a mockery of everything solemn, like the presidential medal of freedom."
