Erica Mena's pregnancy hasn't been without a little bit of controversy, but her most recent move can't be interpreted with any other message but love after penning an emotional letter to the unborn daughter she's expecting with Safaree Samuels.

The "Love and Hip Hop: New York" reality star took to Instagram Sunday morning to share the letter she wrote for her daughter, who is only called "Baby Girl Samuels" at this point. Mena also showed some photos of herself cradling her baby bump, taken during her baby shower in November, which was themed as a "Baby Met Gala."

"Dear Daughter," the letter began in a series of IG posts:

"I haven’t met you yet but I always dreamed about you. Once I had your brother I knew one day there would be a you. ?
Most often in life, no amount of good advice, rules, or structure can teach you better than experience will. With that said, you will do as you will (as I did), but it is my wish that maybe these words will save you some heartache, lessen the blow at what life brings you, keep you safe, bring you more ease, and give you the courage to blaze your own path..."

The letter continued:

"Verified
Be who you want to be mommy’s Queen ! ?? It’s rare that you come into this world knowing exactly who you are and which path to take.
So, create yourself.
Decide who you want to be.
And then when you have outgrown her, decide who else you want to be.
You’re allowed to try on different hats. You’re allowed to alter your path. You’re allowed to change.
You will know what works for you because you will be born with an inner guidance system. It will let you know when something you’ve chosen is no longer serving you. It will let you know when it’s time to move on from relationships. It will let you know when something greater is waiting for your attention."

"Each woman holds the key to life inside her body. ✨??
Remember that when someone calls you crazy for having emotions, for needing more rest, for crying for no reason, or for standing up for yourself. You are a woman. A Queen ? My Daughter ✨Take notice about how you feel when you are presented with the obligatory structures of our society and if necessary, take them with a grain of salt. Be spontaneous, dance and play whenever you can.
Explore your creativity and cultivate the parts of you that are unique, even if they are not the norm.
Be better than me! ✨ Be kind to everyone and remember that your bright light will not be received by everyone you meet. Leave those people behind. ?✨ Very Soon S.M.S ?Your father , brother & I can’t wait to hold you."
