If you tune into Keeping Up With The Kardashians, you’ll have noticed: Kendall and Kylie Jenner are barely on the show anymore.
Khloe Kardashian has now opened up about why the 22-year-old makeup mogul and her 24-year-old sister don’t show their faces on-air too much.
Talk started when a fan straight-up confronted Khloe on Twitter.
“this ain’t shade AT ALL but do Kendall and Kylie have different contracts now for #KUWTK? cos Kendall rarely films and Kylie isn’t featured a whole lot?” they asked.
Khloe doesn’t always reply to fans, but this lucky individual did get a response.
“Kendall and Kylie have different contracts. Kourt, Kim and I have an equal contract,” the Good American founder wrote.
Not the world’s most detailed explanation, but it’s better than nothing. It also makes sense. The hit E! show that’s been airing since 2009 shows endless scenes featuring 39-year-old Kim and 40-year-old Kourtney (plus 35-year-old Khloe), but scenes including the two youngest KarJenner sisters are few and far between.
When it comes to priorities, the Kardashian-Jenner clan seems to place one factor as the governing one: money. If one opportunity will net them more cash, they’re likely to go for it.
Kendall’s modeling gigs earned her $22.5 million in 2018, making her the highest-paid supermodel in the world. Meanwhile, Kylie is single-handedly running Kylie Cosmetics, although the billion-dollar brand has been part-sold – Kylie sold 51% of her company to Coty Inc. in November.
Chances are, Kendall and Kylie are way too busy managing their mega careers to spend time sashaying around their Calabasas mansions eating salad.
Summing Kylie Jenner up these days needs more than one sentence. Once little more than the series’ spoiled teen, the Kylie Cosmetics CEO has risen to be the richest member of her family.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back,” Kylie told Forbes as the iconic magazine announced the star as the world’s youngest billionaire earlier this year.
Kylie is also a mother to daughter Stormi, having recently announced that her baby’s second birthday party will basically be the wildest thing the world has ever seen.
One thing is less steady, though. Kylie and baby daddy Travis Scott called it quits earlier this year, leaving Kylie a single mother.
As the world’s highest-paid supermodel, Kendall is more in-demand than ever. She’s a regular at Fashion Week and currently fronts mega-brands including Calvin Klein, Adidas, Tiffany & Co., Longchamps, and Proactiv.
Kendall has spoken out about her career, reminding the world that her Kardashian-Jenner status didn’t do her many favors in terms of kicking off her modeling gigs.
“I’ve always been a hard worker: that’s in my blood. My parents raised me and my little sister to be that way and the rest of my sisters, too. A lot of people assumed that because I came from a ‘name’ that it was a lot easier for me to get to where I got, but actually it’s the completely opposite,” she told Vogue Australia.
Once upon a time, the Kardashians’ lives revolved around their show. Now? It’s more like squeezing in filming when they can.
Kim is CEO of KKW Beauty and new shapewear line, SKIMS. Khloe continues to run her denim and athleisurewear line, Good American. Kourtney’s April-launched Poosh lifestyle brand may be lower-profile, but it’s hardly keeping her in bed all day.
Still, Kourtney (arguably the least profitable Kardashian) has stated that she will be appearing less on the show.
“I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there. But I’m not saying goodbye. But I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed. Currently, in this room,” Kourtney recently said, as the aforementioned PopCulture report states.
