Members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan are not having the spirit of independence as the Fourth of July comes upon us.
In celebration of the United States' Independence Day, Kourtney and Kim marked the day with a controversial post.
Kourtney Kardashian Marks Fourth Of July Celebration
Kourtney Kardashian, who just came out of a major health scare involving her husband Travis Barker, was the first to slam the fourth of July.
She took to her Instagram Stories to share a series of photos including a poster that read, "4th of July has been canceled due to a shortage of independence. Sincerely, Women."
Kourtney's post was probably in regards to the Supreme Court's recent ruling overturning Roe V. Wade and giving states the sole right to ban abortion. The overturning of the 1973 landmark case stripped women of the federal rights to access safe and legal abortion.
Alongside the quote, Kim showed off her taut midriff in a mirror selfie that showed her wearing a black sports bra with matching sweatpants. She stared seductively at the camera with her short bob hairstyle tucked neatly behind her ears.
Nevertheless, Kourtney looked like she was going to have a swell time during the fourth of July weekend as she posted a stack of board games including Monopoly, Battleship, Operation, and Gobblet Gobblers.
She also uploaded an image of her enjoying a ride in an orange vintage car. Younger sister Kim Kardashian also followed in Kourtney's steps, uploading the same quote on her stories.
Khloe, Kylie, Kendall, and momager Kris are yet to post about the Fourth of July.
Travis Barker Was Hospitalized For Pancreatitis
Kourtney's Fourth of July post comes days after she called out the paparazzi following the frightening incident involving her husband.
As you might know, on June 28, Barker was photographed being rushed to the hospital, lying on a stretcher, via an ambulance.
As The Blast reported, the blink-182 drummer was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after an earlier visit to West Hills hospital revealed a more intense health scare.
Through it all, Kourtney was photographed staying by her man's side in a somber attire of a black hoodie with matching baggy joggers.
Fans were left in the dark about what was going on, with Barker's daughter Alabama Barker asking fans to "please send your prayers." Amid his health saga, the "Let's Go" singer also tweeted "God Save Me."
Shortly after news of his hospitalization broke, sources revealed that Barker was allegedly suffering from pancreatitis after a recent colonoscopy procedure resulted in an inflamed pancreas.
An insider claimed that the Aquabats alum was in severe pain before his hospitalization. He endured "extreme stomach pain" and "could barely walk."
Barker was put on a strict modified diet by the doctors and Kourtney for once didn't leave his side throughout the whole ordeal.
Fans and celebrities put up prayers for the drummer while waiting for an official update from him or his wife Kourtney. The pair eventually broke their silence on Barker's life-threatening experience via a joint Instagram update on Saturday.
The Poosh Founder Slammed The Paparazzi From Profiting Off Her Nightmare
The rocker explained in the update that he underwent an endoscopy on Monday, feeling great. However, after dinner, he "developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since."
Barker continued, "During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis."
He concluded the message, writing, "I am so very, very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better. Thank you, God, I love you, God."
Kourtney, on the other hand, shared a lengthier message, writing, "Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been. Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change."
She corroborated Barker's claim about how the endoscopy resulted in scary pancreatitis, before sending her appreciation to fans.
"I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all of your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. I am so touched and appreciative. I am so, so thankful to our specialists, doctors, and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and me during our stay."
However, after the appreciative message, Kourtney blasted the paparazzi after a photo circulated of her running errands, insinuating she wasn't by her husband's side. However, in reality, they were taken weeks before the health scare.
The Poosh founder went off in her statement, writing, "And to the paparazzi who sold pictures of me ‘out and about’ while my husband was in the hospital fighting for his life…these were photos actually taken weeks ago, (I cant’ even remember the last time I wore that sweatsuit in the photos)"
She continued, "I didn’t forget about you. A new level of low, monetizing off of our nightmare. Really savagely uncool when I actually didn’t leave his side… shame on you.”
