Sadie admitted that she didn't really know where Max's story was going until she had read the scripts. She explained that she received the first four episodes when they first started filming. However, the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown started and the set was shut down. At that point, they decided to send the cast the rest of the scripts for the season while they were still in lockdown.

"Once I found out where it was going, I was very shocked," Sadie said. The 20-year-old actress also called the final two episodes of season 4 "cinematic," adding, "You really have to settle in for it."

"It’s the beginning of the end, which is the tagline of season four, but you really don’t feel that until episode nine," she said. "It was a journey to watch and I even knew what was going to happen!"

She also had nothing but praise for the Duffer brothers, saying, "They never once treated us any differently than they would an adult cast member."

"Like, they really respected and valued our opinions and created a really fun environment," she recalled. "They never undermined us in any way and really just listened to us and collaborated with us."

Sadie admitted that she doesn't know what the Duffer brothers have planned for next season, especially considering that it's the last in the series.

However, with so many fan-favorite characters, she knows that there will be more deaths coming next season. That being said, she feels that "the Duffers are always very careful and calculated with who they’re killing off. They’re never gonna kill a character for the sake of just killing someone off. It always has to move the plot along and be right in that moment and in the story."

"I have full faith in them," Sadie added.

Although she expects more character deaths in season five, Sadie admitted, "I can tell you with full honesty that I do not know what is going to happen in season five."

"I think after watching nine, I’m even more eager to find out," she continued. "Looking back on previous seasons, there’s always something that’s left up in the air as to what evil is still out there. I think that this season, it’s more prominent than ever."

"The Duffers definitely know the fans will be eagerly awaiting the fifth season, but I don’t think they’re gonna rush it," she continued. "They wanna make the best final season that they could possibly make."

That being said, Sadie confessed that she doesn't want to leave the show. Although "Stranger Things" will come to an end with the fifth season, it remains to be seen how far Max will make it through the season.

Sadie admitted that the Duffer brothers have been "very secretive about season five in general," although she revealed that they "did have a conversation" about what is to come.

"I have no idea what’s coming in five and what that looks like," she said. "Max’s storyline is very up in the air, ’cause obviously she’s in a coma and Eleven can’t find her in the void. So who knows where she is and what state she’s in."

Many fans have their fingers crossed that Max will be able to survive the fifth and final season. The first four seasons of "Stranger Things" is available to stream on Netflix.
