NFL Legend Brian Urlacher Settles $100,000 Legal Battle With Hair Loss Company

NFL legend Brian Urlacher has reached a settlement with a hair restoration company in his $100,000 lawsuit.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Urlacher is dismissing his case against Florida-based Charles Medical Group and Glenn M. Charles.
Urlacher originally sued the defendants seeking $100k. He [accused them of using his likeness to hawk their products without his permission.
](/c/brian-urlacher-hair-restoration-lawsuit)The NFL legend recently offered Glenn M. Charles an offer to end the case. He said he dismiss the entire lawsuit for $3,500, significantly less than his original demand. The hair restoration company and doctor accepted the deal.
The court order states “Final Judgment is entered in favor of Plaintiff Brian Urlacher and against Defendants Glenn M. Charles in the amount of $3,500 inclusive of all claims asserted in this action, including all damages, profits, enhancements, punitive damages, costs of suit, attorney fees and other monetary amounts otherwise recoverable in this action by Plaintiff.”
The judge then closed the case officially.
The Blast
Back in March, the former Chicago Bears middle linebacker filed his suit against the hair restoration company. Urlacher filed a lawsuit against the Florida-based Charles Medical Group, NKP Medical Marketing and Glenn M. Charles. He claimed their advertisements were screwing his deal with a third party hair company.
Urlacher said out of the thousands of hair rejuvenation, replacement or restoration companies, he choose one that was deserving of his name.
The suit said, “For more than a decade, Urlacher and his team of advisors have carefully vetted the companies and products with whom Urlacher associates his name and likeness, and in 2014 they chose Restoration Holdings, LLC (“RHL”) and entered into a lucrative contract with the company to serve as its celebrity endorser and spokesman. Not only did Urlacher serve as RHL’s spokesman, he became a client when he himself underwent a restoration procedure.”

The former NFL star said the company he worked for hired him for his extraordinary value that attaches to his name and likeness. He said, “Not surprisingly, Defendants have attempted illegally to steal and cash in on Urlacher’s name and this success.”
Back in 2016, Urlacher said the competitor to the hair company he endorsed, Charles Medical Group, began running advertisements and marketing its competing products and services using his name and likeness “in order to falsely attract and intercept customers looking for the company endorsed by Urlacher”
Urlacher said he never authorized the use of his image. He demanded in excess of $100,000 along with punitive damages. He also requested an injunction against the doctor from continuing to use his photos or name.
