According to a report by People, Schmidt popped the question at the same place they first met ten years ago. He announced his engagement news to his fans by sharing a picture of the proposal on his Instagram. "My heart and soul. I'll love you forever," he captioned.
Members of his band, such as Logan Henderson, James Maslow, and Carlos Penavaga, were also in attendance. They wasted no time expressing excitement in the comment section of Schmidt's Instagram post.
While Maslow wrote, "love you two so much! Congrats," Penavaga added, "FINALLY!!! Yea!!!! So happy for u guys!!!" Henderson also responded with,
"I'm not crying. YOU ARE! Love you both beyond words."
Before the proposal, Extra spoke to the band in February about their personal lives, and when speaking to Schmidt, he mentioned that he and his girlfriend might as well be married, as they've been together for seven years.

"We're together already. We are going to get married."
However, he shared that he might not have kids, and Penavaga affirmed this. "I left Kendall in the car with my kids for five minutes, and when I came back, he was like, 'Oh, I do not want to have kids for a while.'"
According to online sources, Schmidt's fiancée Mica Von Turkovich is a writer born and bred in Vermont and currently resides in Los Angeles. She's 31 years old and has a large fanbase following of about 57,000 followers under the username, Mica_Chu.
Although she also pursued a career in acting, she mentioned that "the unappealing reality of the entertainment industry ultimately led me back to writing, and I couldn't be happier."
She now has interests in fitness and veganism and also describes herself as a doula, according to her Instagram bio.

Although the actor's birthday tribute to Von Turkovich dates back to 2016, it's safe to assume that the pair linked up in 2015.
In 2017, the "Big Time Rush" actor shared a throwback picture of Von Turkovich sitting on his lap at a Bottle Rock festival in California. Later that year, he shared another picture with her in it and captioned it "with my favourite person."
On her birthday that year, he posted a beautiful birthday picture of her and added a sweet tribute as a caption.

"It's this beautiful soul's birthday," he began. "Any description of how @mica_chu has changed my life would be an understatement. It's been a pleasure to be with her as the days go by. I envy the way she sees things. Her true purpose is to make a meaningful difference in the world; I know that's exactly what she will do. She gives me a reason to be the best man I can be. And in turn, I do everything in my power to be everything she deserves."
Since then, he has consistently shared memorable moments like Valentine's Day, quarantining together during the pandemic, camping trips, and others with his fiancée in the pictures.
The pair recently celebrated their seventh anniversary, and Schmidt posted a carousel of pictures and captioned it, "7 years of loving you. 1 million more por favor." He also called her his "one and only" in a recent picture.

A day after Schmidt got engaged, the band released their newest single, "Honey," which will debut on their Forever Tour on Thursday night. His fiancée, however, has been cheering him up from the sidelines as he toured the country with his band.
Watching all of this come together from the sidelines made these moments much more exciting," she shared on Instagram after watching the band perform in 2021. "And my Kendall… I love you, and I'm so freakin proud of you."

In May, the band spoke to People about the preparation for their tour.
"They don't call us Big Time Rush for nothing. The scaries are setting in, at least for that part of it. But on the production side, everything's going smooth. And as long as we've been doing it together, things happen quickly. So once we're all together, things just kind of move, they kind of work," Henderson said.
Schmidt added of their last-minute preparation." This band is notoriously last minute, so that's kind of situation normal."
