Billionaire Elon Musk has finally returned to Twitter to greet his 100.3 million followers with three tweets posted in quick succession.

He first posted a throwback photo of a previous trip to Venice with his ex-wife, "Westworld" actress Talulah Riley. The two were married twice: from 2010 to 2012 and from 2013 to 2016.

Did Elon Musk Really Just Meet The Pope?

"Venice, a site of Great Remembrance," he tweeted, hinting at a recent trip to Italy. The SpaceX founder just turned 51 on June 28 but was suspiciously quiet on social media. It's possible that he took a family trip to Italy to celebrate his birthday.

Forbes' richest man might have confirmed the news with his follow-up tweet, showing Musk and his four of his seven children beside Pope Francis. "Honored to meet @Pontifex yesterday," he tweeted. Some fans commented that the photo was photoshopped, especially considering that the Pope's official Twitter account didn't mention the meeting.

If Elon Musk really did meet the Pope, it's not clear why he was there or what they talked about. Fans were a bit more certain about his third tweet, which many interpreted to be a veiled comment about his new Tesla development.

Tesla CEO Asks His Followers If They're Feeling 'A Little Bored'

Upon his return to Twitter, Musk asked his followers, "Feeling … perhaps … a little bored?"

Like many of Musk's cryptic tweets, it's unclear what he might mean at a first glance. However, one day before Elon Musk returned to Twitter, The Verge shared some news about Musk's Boring Company.

On Thursday, the first passenger station in the “Vegas Loop” network of vehicle tunnels was revealed. The station, which is located underneath Resorts World Las Vegas, is the first to be built. The Vegas Loop is expected to be 29 miles long and consist of 55 stops.

In 2021, the Boring Company opened a small version of what they call "Teslas in Tunnels" underneath the Las Vegas Convention Center. This loop only consists of two tunnels that are each 0.8 miles long.

After their success, Musk’s company proposed a massive citywide expansion, which was approved by Clark County officials last year. Although Musk had previously proposed using sleds to carry cars through tunnels, the system uses human-controlled Model X and Y vehicles to transport passengers.

The Vegas Loop will allow passengers to quickly move around the city in Teslas using the system of tunnels. The stops in the tunnels will include hotel casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, the new Vegas football stadium, the Las Vegas Convention Center, and McCarran International Airport.

On Thursday, June 30, the Resorts World casino announced that the first station had been opened. The next project under construction will create stops at the Stratosphere and Fremont Street.

Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas, released a statement about the first station opening. He said, “Today marks a monumental moment not only for our resort, but for Las Vegas. Our passenger station will make a visit to our resort from the Las Vegas Convention Center easier than ever, and eventually connect us to key destinations throughout the city.”

As The Verge reported, Clark County believes that as many as 57,000 passengers will be able to travel through the tunnel system per hour. They have added that no taxpayer money will be used to construct the elaborate tunnel system.

The Boring Company has previously announced that they cover the costs of the main Vegas Loop tunnel system. However, they expect hotels, casino, and other businesses that want a station built near their location to cover those costs.

Elon Musk and The Boring Company have been working on the tunnel system for a few years now. They have also planned to build similar tunnel systems in cities like Los Angeles and Chicago, but those ideas have fizzled out.

The news concerning The Boring Company has taken a backseat to many of his followers, who are much more interested in his Twitter aquisition. Earlier this year, Elon Musk became Twitter's largest shareholder. About a month later, he had reached a deal with the Twitter board of directors to buy the company for $44 billion dollars.

However, Musk tweeted last month that the deal is "on hold" as he continues to question the number of spam and bot accounts on the social media platform.
