Gabrielle Union‘s controversial exit from “America’s Got Talent” isn’t just affecting her flow, it’s now affecting her one-year-old daughter with Dwyane Wade too. Revealing Kaavia James is mimicking her mommy’s behavior and it’s a “MOOD” after Union was reportedly axed from the hit competition show, along with fellow female judge Julianne Hough, after questioning “problematic situations” on set. The former “AGT” star took time out of her less than relaxing holiday break to show there are two powerful women in her family with one being her offspring. Sharing several adorable snaps of their tiny tot on her toy phone, Gabrielle Union said her child’s behavior right now “is a MOOD.”
Seemingly addressing the “AGT” controversy, which reports state Gabby and Julianne were fired after they expressed concerns about the work culture, Union coyly slammed her ex-bosses with her baby. “@kaaviajames has been here before and she was fed up then too,” Gabrielle Union captioned the pictures. “And clearly I’ve been on the phone too much lately ?… She has me down pat…including that lil hand!” she laughed. Then Gabrielle said the most powerful statement of all by adding, “And she’s not gonna go along to get along either.”
Gabrielle Union’s powerful post gives fans a glimpse into her life after getting fired from the reality competition show after serving just one season as a judge. She spoke out for the first time regarding her departure on Wednesday by tweeting fans thanking them for their support. “So many tears, so much gratitude,” she wrote. “THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone… you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever.” She did not give any more details but that didn’t stop her NBA husband from spilling the tea. Firing off a series of tweets, Dwyane Wade fiercely defended his wife.
“Men lie, Women lie, numbers don’t.’ Over this past year I’ve been approached by many people saying that my wife @itsgabrielleu is the main reason they’ve started watching #AGT or that they love her insight and sincerity on the show,” he began his thread. “So when i got the news that my wife was being fired—my first question was obviously why!?” Wade continued. “I am still waiting on a good answer to that question. But if anyone knows @itsgabrielleu or have heard of her you know she’s an advocate for our community and culture.” The NBA legend gave Gabrielle Union props for standing up for what she believes in and being an excellent role model for their daughter. “As proud as i were of her being selected as a judge on #AGT— I am even more proud of her standing up for what she stands for and that’s US,” he tweeted, before adding, “So [cheers] to you @itsgabrielleu on not losing sight of the lessons we’ve talked about teaching our daughter and for kicking ass while you were on that platform. Number 1 judge on one of the biggest shows in the world.”

Female celebrities like Eva Longoria, Ellen Pompeo, and Sharon Osbourne have shown their support to both Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough demanding things change with the network. “What @gabunion experienced on set at @NBC’s #AmericasGotTalent is unacceptable,” Longoria wrote on her social media while calling for fans to sign a petition started by Time’s Up asking “NBC to stop protecting powerful men at the expense of its workers and address its toxic workplace culture, once and for all.” Pompeo demanded that fans boycott “AGT.”
Taking to Twitter, the “Grey’s Anatomy” star wrote, “Workplace cultures will continue to be toxic until there is unity and solidarity among all women. If you go for self in these moments you undermine the work we are out here trying to do. Obviously this network feels like they can operate like this and it’s okay.” Sharon Osbourne had nothing nice to say about NBC. The 67-year-old, who appeared as a judge on “AGT” for several seasons, spoke out about her own departure saying she too had issues with the network. “I left. And that’s the truth. I left because NBC, not because of the show. I had my own problems with the network. I don’t know about any of her (Union’s) concerns about the show,” she stated.
