Julia Roberts and George Clooney are reuniting for a return to the big screens!
The longtime friends are ready to play a former married couple in an upcoming 2022 romantic comedy named "Ticket to Paradise."
Roberts and Clooney first met when they worked together on their 2001 hit movie, "Ocean's Eleven."
Julia Roberts And George Clooney Set To Bring In Cinemagoers Coins With New Project
Since they first appeared in a movie together, Clooney and Roberts have made $962,000,000 worldwide at the box office.
Apart from raking in such big bucks, the duo has ignited a fan love that cannot be compared to any. So, it was no surprise that supporters excitedly welcomed the news of the stars sharing the screen.
According to Daily Mail, the pair are ready to thrill cinemagoers once again as they team up for "Ticket to Paradise," – which will be released in October 2022.
The "Pretty Woman" actress and the "Batman & Robin" actor will play a divorced couple determined to stop their daughter from walking down the path they did 25 years ago by marrying young.
To achieve their goal, the pair must travel down to Bali, where their daughter, Lily - played by Kaitlyn Dever - met the love of her life during a post-graduation trip.
This would be the first time that Clooney and Roberts would appear on the big screen together since their 2016 movie, "Money Monster."
It is, however, not the first time that Roberts would play the lead role in a rom-com. In fact, the "Erin Brockovich" star has appeared in several rom-coms, and fans have wondered what her views on making more movies in this genre are.
To that end, The Blast reported that the 54-year-old decided to take some time away from making any new tearjerkers.
The actress revealed in April that she was yet to find "anything good enough" to commit to exploring. One reason might be that Roberts' priorities have shifted as she has fully embraced motherhood as her full-time gig.
Fans would recall that the actress shares three children – now teenagers – with her husband, Daniel Moder.
Roberts has gotten so comfortable as a full-time mother that she always has to ensure her family can comfortably work around her schedule before choosing between projects. In the words of the "My Best Friend's Wedding" actress:
“Here’s the thing, if I'd thought something was good enough, I would have done it. But I also had three kids in the last 18 years. That raises the bar even more because then it’s not only ‘is the material good?’ It’s also the math equation of my husband’s work schedule and the kids’ school schedule and summer vacation.”
The love for family is a sentiment that Clooney shares with the screen goddess. But that is not the only reason the actor has appeared less and less in movies.
The "Tomorrowland: A World Beyond" Actor Has No Problem Turning Down Big Gigs For Peace
Back in December 2021, The Blast disclosed that Clooney addressed his absence from Hollywood projects following the release of the movie "The Tender Bar" – which he directed.
After stating that he was missing from the acting scene because "there just aren't that many great parts," he confessed that he and his wife, Amal, did not have to act since they had something they already loved – parenting.
The three-time Golden Globe winner said when he turned 60, he had a conversation with Amal about the need to make their family, including their five-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, a priority.
Clooney expressed how important it was for him and his wife not to overbook themselves, to ensure they enjoyed their lives together.
Luckily the actor has gotten to a place in his career where he would choose his peace of mind over work, even if it offered him millions of dollars.
The 61-year-old has even turned down a $35 million payday that required him to work 24 hours on an airline commercial after discussing it with his wife.
Clooney mentioned that he refused the gig because the commercial had something to do with a country whose alliance with the United States could sometimes be questionable.
