Hoda Kotb Handles Slip Up on Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Humorously

This year's annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was more chaotic than years past. The forecast predicted extremely windy conditions. There was even talks about the floats not being flown at full height.

However, as Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb announced, the floats would fly at their regular height.

This doesn't mean that the wind didn't throw some people off. Numerous performers including Tina in 'Tina: The Tina Turner Musical' nearly lost their balance due to the wind. Snuffy even almost fell over

However, Hoda can't blame her slip-up on the wind. When the Dragon Ball Z float rolled up to Herald Square, Hoda struggled in pronouncing the franchise's latest video game titled "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot." She instead pronounces the title as "Cockarot" and laughs so hard that she can't finish her script for the Dragon Ball Z float.

"Hoda trying, failing, and laughing her way through pronouncing Dragon Ball Super: Kakarot at the parade this year just singlehandedly saved my Thanksgiving," one viewer tweeted.

"This year I'm thankful for all of my family and friends, and for the opportunity to hear Hoda Kotb say 'Kakarot' out loud," another person wrote.

"THE MACYS DAY PARADE LADY I THINK HODA PRONOUNCED KAKAROT AS COCKAROT WHEN READING HER DRAGON BALL COMMERCIAL SCRIPT," One fan exclaimed.

However, not every viewer was able to laugh it off as Hoda did. Many viewers that consider themselves anime fans took offense to the way that Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade host handled the situation.

"I cringed so hard when Hoda mispronounced Kakarot and laughed about it. It felt like it was the MSM [mainstream media] laughing at us for getting popular.

'Look at that, anime fans, we ruined your big moment at the Macy's parade! Now give us your tears, we already have your eyes on our show," an angry viewer tweeted.

"Am I the only one who was pissed when Hoda mispronounced Kakarot during Goku's balloon? Not only that, but that unprofessional "journalist" laughed so hard she almost couldn't finish the description. I cringed so, so hard," another viewer wrote.

One viewer came to Hoda's defense.

"Wait people are GENUINELY mad at how Hoda ... pronounced Kakarot? Y'all be taking it way [too] seriously lmao I thought its as funny but I wasn't mad," someone said.

Hoda hosts 'Today with Hoda & Jenna' every morning on NBC. She used to co-host with BFF Kathie Lee Gifford. The hosts on this show are notorious for sipping out of a large glass of wine and saying whatever comes to mind no matter how outrageous it is. Looks like Hoda brought some of that to this year's parade.
