Shahs of Sunset Star Lilly Ghalichi Welcomes Second Child

Former Shahs of Sunset star Lilly Ghalichi and husband Dara Mir welcomed their second child on June 24 after an eventful induced labor and delivery. The baby's birth came amidst a scary experience for the 39-year-old reality TV star, but she assured everyone via Instagram that her new baby was "perfect and healthy," and the couple couldn't be more in love with him.

The new mom took to Instagram to announce her baby boy's arrival into the world. "Mom and Dad are so in love with you, your big sister adores you, and the World is ready to welcome you 'Kash-Mir!' Thankful to have baby delivered safely by @drthaisaliabadi after our team of amazing doctors recognized the early onset of HELPP Syndrome, something I had never heard of but is life threatening - we are so grateful," she captioned a photo of her and her husband with their new bundle of joy. Another hospital photo was captioned, "We have never felt more complete as we do with you in our family." Tons of congratulations messages and messages of love showered the posts.

The reality star announced in January that she's expecting her second child with husband Mir, 41. Baby boy Kashton joins big sister, Alara, 3. Ghalichi didn't have the smoothest pregnancy, but rather experienced some scary moments towards the end. She revealed that the baby was delivered after doctors determined she was experiencing the early onset of HELPP Syndrome. During her third trimester, she began having strange symptoms that she didn't think were pregnancy related, including extreme nausea and vision loss. Doctors decided an emergency induction was in order to stop the symptoms.

It was friend Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, Kim Zolciak Biermann who gave Ghalichi the name inspiration for her new baby. "When I was pregnant with Alara, Kim told me, 'OMG if it's a boy name him Kash and his name will be 'Kashmir," she said. "Well, it was a girl but this time we had a boy so we took her idea and my husband came up with 'Kashton' from there."

It was no secret that Ghalichi wanted more children after her daughter's birth. In an October 2021 interview with Bravo's Insider's Life After Bravo, the star said, "I still want more kids. I'm 38-years-old now. So for anyone out there that's watching, it's not too late for you. OK? You can have babies into your 40's if you want."

Just before their daughter turned one, the couple split and was headed for divorce. Their split didn't last long, getting back together just three months later. Ghalichi captioned an Instagram photo, "Life isn't perfect, marriage is hard, but like anything else, the harder you work at something, the better it will be." The couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in May.
