Rockstar Ozzy Osbourne, aka the Prince of Darkness, is back with a bang, releasing new music barely two weeks after having a "life-altering surgery." The metal music icon released a new song titled "Patient Number 9" and also blessed fans with an accompanying music video.
Osbourne had critical surgery due to a worsening neck injury that impaired his movement, but he has also had many health issues recently. He just recovered from COVID-19, had pneumonia, and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Many fans are worried about whether he should still be making new music or managing his health.

Ozzy Osbourne Released A New Song
On Friday, Osbourne surprised fans with a new song titled "Patient Number 9" and an accompanying music video, which artist Todd McFarlane directed. In the eerie video, Osbourne acts as a patient in a mental institution alongside an illustrated version of him. The two versions fight several demons in two distinct styles.
In a statement to Loudwire, Osbourne explained the story behind the title track. He said, "The song is about a mental institution. Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honor. There's no other guitar player that plays like him and his solo on 'Patient Number 9' is just jaw-dropping."

His album, which he says is coming soon, will reportedly feature an all-star lineup. Some music stars that feature includes Mike McCready, Eric Clapton, Chad Smith, Robert Trujillo, Taylor Hawkins, and Zakk Wylde. Tony Iommi, Osbourne's former bandmate from Black Sabbath, will also be making his debut on one of his solo albums.

"Patient Number 9" was released shortly after Osbourne underwent major surgery to realign the metal pins in his back and neck. According to his wife, Sharon Osbourne, the surgery was "life-altering," and the entire family worried about its success and recovery.
Osbourne had suffered from neck injuries and movement difficulties dating back to 2003, after a pretty bad quad biking accident. Another major fall in 2019 made his neck and back problems significantly worse, and he had to have 15 metal pins inserted into his body.
During an interview with Classic Rock, the former "Black Sabbath" star spoke about the injury and how he had to wait "on some more surgery on my neck" before he could resume his final tour. He also explained the extent to which the injury had affected him and said, "I can't walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning. I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road."
He Is On The Road To Recovery
Osbourne was discharged from the hospital just a day after his surgery, showing that it was a huge success. However, he is still very much on the road to recovery. In an Instagram post appreciating the public concern, he wrote, "I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes during my recovery."
He also posted the update about his health for his fans on Twitter. Many immediately commented with prayers for his recovery and shared supportive words. Some comments read, "My thoughts are with you and your family, Oz. Get well soon" and "I hope you recover well!!!"
He Recently Caught COVID-19
Sharon, Osbourne's long-time wife, announced on her new show, "The Talk," when Osbourne received a positive COVID result. She said, "I spoke to him and he's OK. I am very worried about Ozzy right now. We've gone two years without him catching COVID, and it's just Ozzy's luck that he would get it now."
According to TMZ's post, Sharon was very emotional when she shared the news and even broke down in tears. She said, "It'll take me a week to get my old man back on his feet again, and I will be back in a week. We're gonna get a negative test by next week."
