Machine Gun Kelly is opening up about a very dark time in his life and how Megan Fox was there at the end of the tunnel to give him some light.
In his new Hulu documentary, “Life In Pink,” the rapper recalled a scary suicide attempt amid the pandemic in July 2020 that involved his now-fiancée.
Machine Gun Kelly Almost Killed Himself
The “Emo Girl” singer opened up about a dark period in his life when he was mourning the loss of his father. MGK’s dad passed away on the one-year anniversary of the release of his album, “Hotel Diablo.”
He shared the news via a social media post on July 6, writing, “I had plans for the one-year anniversary of Hotel Diablo today. That album was everything I wanted to say and I know it’s close to my fans…”
He continued, “But my father took his last breath this morning, and I’ve never felt a pain this deep in my life. I’m setting my phone down. love you.”
As fans commiserated with the rapper, MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, was struggling with dealing with his father’s loss.
“I wouldn’t leave my room and I started getting really, really, really dark,” he recalled in the documentary. “Megan went to Bulgaria to shoot a movie and I started getting this really wild paranoia. Like, I kept getting paranoid that someone was gonna come and kill me.”
Things got so intense that the “Midnight in the Switchgrass” star began sleeping with a shotgun by his side. Unfortunately, one day he just “just f–king snapped” and things went south pretty fast, almost costing him his life.
Detailing the scary day, the “Bad Things” rapper said, “I called Megan. I was like, ‘You aren’t here for me.’ I’m in my room and I’m, like, freaking out on her. Dude, I put the shotgun in my mouth. And I’m yelling on the phone and like the barrel’s in my mouth.”
He continued, “And I go to cock the shotgun and the bullet, as it comes back up, the shell just gets jammed. Megan’s like dead silent.”
Megan Fox Became ‘The Sun’ To ‘The Dirt’ Star
That event was an eye-opening one for the two-time Billboard Music Award winner who realized “something’s not right.” Fox and his daughter Casie opened up to him, saying they didn’t want to speak to him “through a veil anymore.”

MGK remembered the conversation his now-fiancée and 12-year-old daughter had with him, “I want to like, see you as my father’ and ‘I want to see you as my husband-to-be’ and I was like, I need to kick the drugs for real this time.”
It’s unsure if MGK was on drugs at the time of his horrifying experience, but it was a turning point for the 32-year-old who soon saw how important the “Jennifer’s Body” actress was to him.
He shared that Fox soon “became the sun” to him and his world soon revolved around her. He credited the 36-year-old for giving him life and helping him grow.
Showering praises on his fiancée, MGK said, “That’s what helps me write those songs. ‘Cause it’s just like every fairy tale that they never told you in school … the passion between us is just otherworldly.”
The Lovebirds Partake In Blood Drinking Ritual
Indeed, Fox and MGK’s bond is “otherworldly” as evident by their love story. The lovebirds met in early 2020 on the set of “Midnight in the Switchgrass” and became an in June 2020.
Almost two years after dating, the pair sealed their love and got engaged in a style only unique to them. MGK popped the question with a massive engagement ring, which consisted of tear-drop-shaped diamond (MGK’s birthstone) and emerald (Fox’s birthstone) gemstones joined and perched on a silver magnetic band of thorns.
Asides from the sentimental ring, the couple also “drank each other’s blood” to seal their love. MGK and Fox have a long history of exchanging bodily fluids as a symbol of their love for one another.
As The Blast reported, in an April interview, Fox elaborated on their blood-drinking ritual, admitting that it wasn’t as grotesque as many might imagine.
She explained, “To drink each other’s blood might mislead people or people are imagining us with goblets and we’re like Game of Thrones, drinking each other’s blood. It’s just a few drops, but yes, we do consume each other’s blood on occasion for ritual purposes only.”
