Jennifer Meyer Opens Up About Her Split From Ex-Husband Tobey Maguire: 'I Love Him To Death'

It's been two years since Tobey Maguire's ex Jennifer Meyer filed for divorce after nine years of marriage and another four years of living apart. Despite their split, the pair seemed to have maintained close and friendly relations, co-parenting their children, 15-year-old daughter Ruby and 13-year-old son Otis, and supporting their own various personal and career endeavors.

In a recent interview, the jewelry designer confirmed their non-marital but intimate relationship, voicing words of praise about Maguire, whom she first met in 2003 while he was filming "Seabiscuit" at Universal Studios.

Meyer recently opened up about her life following her split from her former partner and father of her two kids on the June 23 episode of "The World's First" Podcast. She described that the divorce brought her a new but "beautiful" outlook on life and has enjoyed her single journey so far.

"It's been the most beautiful experience of my life having this beautiful breakup," Jennifer said on the podcast. "I can't even explain."

Several theories were floated at the time of her divorce as to why the couple was ending their almost decade-long marriage. According to a source, the two were interested in different lifestyles, with Maguire preferring to remain indoors while Meyer enjoys getting out and about.

Their differing personal interests grew increasingly apparent as their marriage progressed, culminating in their separation in 2016. Meyer formally filed for divorce in 2020, requesting shared legal and physical custody of their children.

Regarding her present relationship with Maguire, the actress informed hosts Erin and Sara Foster that it was quite amicable, expressing how much she cares about Maguire even though there is no reconciliation in sight.

"I would literally do anything in the world for Tobey," she gushed. "He is my brother. I love him to death and we have the most beautiful family."

She went on to claim that, despite their pleasant relationship, co-parenting their children was a tough and time-consuming effort since they had to combine their parental responsibilities with pursuing their careers and other personal interests.

"The work is a motherf—ker. I'm not gonna lie. And we did a lot of work to stay on track to stay a family," she told hosts, Erin and Sara Foster. "It was a choice and it was trusting in, like, the universe has got our back."

Meyer later admitted that her connection with Maguire was strong enough for them to discuss their love lives and other personal concerns they were dealing with at the moment.

"We talk about our significant others and 'Hey, you got the kids? I'm going for a weekend away,' you know what I mean?" she added. "Now it's like, anything, or I mean, 'Hey, I'm having a hard day' or 'Hey, you did this, it really bummed me out.'"

The jewelry designer opined that her close connection with Maguire came due to their decision to push through the emotional issues that their split had caused, adding that the universe also played a part in keeping them close since they went their separate ways.

Meyer said, "We're able to get through it, but it all goes back to the universe has your back if you stay on track."

Although their divorce is yet to be officially completed, the duo have been seeing other people as they are already legally separated. Maguire went on to date model Tatiana Dieteman for around three years but allegedly broke up with her back in February.

In the past, Meyer has also been previously linked to sports agent Rich Paul, but their relationship was not confirmed at the time.

As per their careers, Maguire recently returned to the limelight with his feature in the Marvel film "Spider-Man: No Way Home." Meyer, on the other hand, continues to run her jewelry franchise which was opened in 2018 and had the "Great Gatsby actor in attendance on the opening date.
