Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox starred as our favorite t.v. couple Chandler and Monica, two best friends who fell in love, on Friends for a decade. Now, it seems as if fiction may become reality with sources reporting that Matthew Perry was always in love with Courteney and might still be.

With a Friends reunion special possibly in the works, could this finally be the perfect timing for them to work things out and become a real life Chandler and Monica? They've always had chemistry, that is obvious. Maybe that chemistry continued off-screen?

Courteney and Matthew have always been good friends, and remained so, even after the long-running series ended in 2004.

Matthew even guest starred on Courteney's show Cougar Town in 2014, playing Sam, a love interest.

On November 7, Courteney posted a picture to Instagram in which she and Matthew appeared quite cozy in each other's company. She captioned the photo with a bit of Friends humor: Guess who I had lunch with today....I KNOW!! Could I BE any happier? #realfriends

So, could there be more than friendship in the air? A generation desperate for anything that brings back the 90's and early 2000's nostalgia would go crazy shipping this couple.

While the beloved series has gained legions of new fans now that it's on streaming service Netflix, it will be leaving at the end of the year. In a huge deal costing hundreds of millions of dollars, HBO Max has bought the rights to show it on its new streaming service.

Fortunately, Warner Media and HBO Max are "in talks" with all six stars of the series, and its creators to possibly create a reunion special. That means not only could Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox be spending a lot more time together, but we'll get a Friends reunion as the cherry on top.

They were hands down the cutest couple on the series, having gotten married and adopting twins throughout the seasons.

Now, its being reported that Matthew may actually be in love with Courteney in real life. A source recently told Us Weekly, “Matthew’s always been in love with her. Matthew has never fully been able to get over her.”

Recently, however, many are concerned about Matthew's health which was a pretty common worry while Friends was airing as well.

A source told In Touch Weekly, "[His co-stars] are worried six about [his] health... [Cox], in particular, is extremely concerned."

There were also photos shared of Matthew looking a bit out of it, with the same source saying, "Matthew was disheveled, he seemed really out of it."

"He was very messy, sloppy. He looked like a homeless man," they said.

They've both dated quite a bit during the series and after it finished. Courteney was married to actor David Arquette from 1999 to 2013 and they have a daughter together. She's currently not single either, as she's involved in an on-again, off-again relationship with Snow Patrol member, Johnny McDaid.

Matthew Perry has mostly remained single, though he's been involved in relationships with Yasmine Bleeth, Julia Roberts and Lizzy Caplan over the years.

Is it possible these two could finally emulate their on-screen characters and develop a romantic relationship? Only time will tell, but it seems Matthew Perry would definitely be open to it.
