If you follow Chrissy Teigen on social media then you know she is not one to bite her tongue. The very outspoken model and mother of two is always letting people know how she feels, and when it comes to her husband John Legend, who is equally as outspoken as she is, Chrissy will never be the one to hold back her true emotions, regardless of whoever made the statement. A fact talk show host Sharon Osbourne knows all too well now.
As one of the hosts of daytime talk show ratings giant The Talk Sharon Osbourne has always been very vocal about the things she likes and dislikes. Since it’s now officially the holiday season one thing that we as a society will be bombarded with is Christmas music. It’s about to be everywhere, all the time, every day. And since Teigen’s husband is a musician of course he also will be gracing us with his own version of holiday standards. Case in point, Legend, and fellow “Voice” coach Kelly Clarkson have both re-released an updated version of ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’. However, they’ve taken a few liberties with the original song’s lyrics in the #MeToo movement era. Fox News reports that Legend and Clarkson attempted to make the song a bit less controversial for today’s tumultuous climate by switching around a few of the lyrics. However, Osbourne was not feeling their update and let her opinion be known.
“What would John Legend do, if in 40 years, if somebody wanted to… re-record one of his songs, and there was some group that found it offensive, and somebody just went, ‘Oh, I can change the lyrics on that,’” Osbourne said.
“It’s, to me, like a master painting,” Osbourne argued. “It’s a piece of art.”
Of course after Sharon made her opinion known it didn’t take long before Teigen shared her own thoughts. And although Chrissy doesn’t mince words when she let’s people know how she’s feeling she didn’t necessarily say anything bad. Fox News also reports that during an interview with Entertainment Tonight Chrissy was asked about Sharon’s comments and had this to say.
“Sharon’s always going to have something to say, it’s her job,” Teigen told Entertainment Tonight. “I remember those days of getting to talk s—t for money. It’s very fun.”
She also wanted everyone to know that she supports her husband 100% and saw nothing wrong with what he and Clarkson did with the song.
“I mean, it makes sense,” Teigen laughingly conceded. “I’m obviously down for a lyric change.”
Osbourne has yet to respond to Teigen’s comments.
