A week after the “Aquaman” actress sat down with Savannah Guthrie on “TODAY” and spoke about her legal loss against her ex-husband, the prop hand from “Edward Scissorhands” sold for big bucks.
You may recall Heard’s interview with the veteran morning show journalist.
Guthrie asked Heard, “In the closing arguments, the Depp lawyer called your testimony the performance of a lifetime and said you were acting. What do you say to that?”
Amber’s “Scissor Fingers” Boosts Johnny Depp’s Popularity!
“Says the lawyer for the man who convinced the world he had scissors for fingers,” she retaliated. “I’m the performer?”
You’ll recall, Depp portrayed the boy with scissors for hands in Tim Burton’s 90’s classic, “Edward Scissorhands.”
As you can imagine this comment generated massive criticism from fans across the internet while simultaneously creating yet another viral moment.
One person wrote on Twitter, “Amber Heard disappointing everyone by telling them Johnny Depp does not have scissor hands. What’s she going to accuse him of next, not owning a chocolate factory…. #AmberHeardIsALiar.”
“Amber Heard yet again trying to convince the world Johnny Depp cut his own finger. HE HAS SCISSOR HANDS! #EdwardscissorHands,” another quipped.
Twitter TROLLS Heard For ‘TODAY’ Show Comments
This person tweeted, “LMAO WHAT?! @realamberheardyou do know Edward Scissor hands is not real?? Have you been drinking Dr Spiegel’s koolaid.”
“Amber Heard is the only person to just find out Edward Scissor hands was just a movie,” another joked.
Well, it seems her comment about the boy with scissor fingers hands helped one auction company score double the amount of money on the movie prop.
Depp’s Scissorhands Prop Goes Up For Auction
According to TMZ, Propstore put the actual insert hand Depp wore in the 1990 film up for auction, and projected it would sell for somewhere between $30k-$50k.
However, when push came to sale, the ‘Scissorhand’ prop sold for an astonishing $81,250.00!
The outlet’s auction sources say the interest in the trial and more specifically Depp’s massive victory in the trial helped drive up the price of the prop piece.
This isn’t the only piece of Depp movie memorabilia that has gone for big bucks at the auction block.
Sells For DOUBLE The Asking Price!
The motorcycle a young JD rode in “Cry Baby” is up for auction for $250,000.00.
The 1955 Harley Davidson Model K was screen used in the production of the cult classic 1990 film. Depp played the role of “Cry Baby” Wade Walker, whose ability to shed a single tear excites all the girls.
It appears everyone wants a piece of the “Pirates Actor,” so much so, there are fake social media accounts being made under his name.
The Blast reported earlier this week on Depp’s warning to influential fans.
In his Instagram Story, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor encouraged his followers to be cautious about interacting with any accounts claiming to be him, or associated with him, on social media.
Depp provided fans with a list of his official accounts, while warning them to be careful when interacting with anyone who claims to be him online.
“I’ve been made aware that there are fake accounts pretending to be me or people working with me,” his statement began. “I do not have any private or side accounts on any platforms. These are the only pages run by me and my team where we share updates and communicate: Instagram @JohnnyDepp / TikTok @JohnnyDepp / Facebook @JohnnyDepp / Discord @JohnnyDepp0854.”
The actor concluded, “I ask that you remain cautious as it seems these fake accounts can be relentless. My team is working to combat the problem. Thank you for your continued support and for making me aware of this issue!” Depp continued, concluding, “Love & respect, JD X.”
