Only weeks after it was announced that Michael B. Jordan and ex-girlfriend Lori Harvey had broken up after a year together, he has removed any traces of her from his Instagram account.
After the separation, both Michael, 35, and Harvey, 25, unfollowed each other, indicating that their parting was not amicable but rather the consequence of irreconcilable differences. The former couple was known for constantly uploading images of themselves on social media and expressing their love for one another to their fans.
Harvey took the first step toward her new life as a single woman by removing all of Jordan's Instagram photos, but the actor did not follow suit at the time, despite having previously unfollowed her. However, the "Creed" star has lately reversed his position on that account, clearing his personal links with her, and seems to be ready to go on with his life.
Michael B. Jordan Deletes Lovey-Dovey Moments With Lori Harvey
According to E! News, Jordan has returned Harvey's gesture of deleting any signs of her romance with Jordan from her social media account. While the couple had multiple postings on Jordan's account, the most noteworthy one that was removed was their official Instagram post from January 2021, which marked their months together.
"I love you baby...hope today has been at least half as amazing as you are," the actor captioned a photo of himself celebrating his 34th birthday, which has also been deleted.
Additionally, their first anniversary tributes from November 2021, which featured a photo of the two kissing on the "Creed" actor's Instagram profile, was also noticeably absent.
Other photos that have been removed include them attending Vanity Fair's Oscars After-Party in March, where they made their red carpet debut, and a snapshot of Harvey from February, in which the actor commented, "I adore her."
Reasons For The Split
People previously gathered that the reason for the breakup was Harvey's unwillingness to totally commit to the relationship despite their shared love. When Jordan realized this was Harvey's viewpoint, he decided it was best for them to part ways.
"She is very focused on her career," an insider told the publication: "She still wants to have fun and be free. Michael is a great guy. She is sad that their relationship didn't work out, but she is moving on."
Another source reported, "he let down his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time," which now seems to imply that the emotional burden of the split hit Jordan more.
Steve Harvey Supports His Daughter Lori Harvey
Fans have chastised the beauty guru on social media for her lack of commitment in a relationship, with many saying that Harvey and Jordan's romance was doomed from the start due to her prior list of failed relationships.
Lori Harvey's father, Steve Harvey, does not share such sentiments, expressing his support for his daughter on an episode of his eponymous show, "The Steve Harvey Morning Show." "I'm team Lori, 1,000 percent. She's my daughter. I love her, I support her," he said.
"Things happen," he chimed. "It's hard to be young and in the limelight and have a successful relationship. Look, as long as everybody can walk away in peace, be friends… I ain't heard nobody say they busted no windows or nothing."
"As long as you don't put your hands on my daughter, I don't give a damn what you do," Steve, 65, concluded.
What's Next For Michael B. Jordan
Jordan was unsurprisingly absent from Harvey's side as she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala on May 2 for the first time after their split. On May 17, he was also not present with the model who attended a screening of the French zombie comedy "Final Cut (Coupez!)" at the Cannes Film Festival.
Jordan, on the other hand, was spotted alone with Cordae at the NBA finals game two of the Celtics vs. Warriors series on June 5, marking his first public appearance since the news of the separation broke.
By all indications, Jordan will take longer to truly devote himself to a new relationship. In the meanwhile, the actor will star as "Adonis "Donnie" Creed in "Creed 3," with Tessa Thompson, who will reprise her role as Bianca Taylor, his partner.
