The ex-wife of billionaire Elon Musk, Justine Wilson, is coming out in support of her daughter.

Right after she turned 18, Xavier Musk - who has a twin brother named Griffin - filed to change her name and gender to Vivian Wilson. Wilson, an author, was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008.

Although the Tesla CEO has tweeted a bunch of memes since the news broke, Justine posted a statement on Twitter to show support for her daughter by revealing a text message exchange she had with someone who is assumed to be Vivian.

Justine Wilson Comes Out In Support Of Daughter

On Monday night, Justine Wilson, who still goes by Justine Musk on Twitter, posted a text message exchange between her and her daughter.

The tweet reads:

"I had a weird childhood," my 18 year old said to me. "I can't believe I'm as normal-seeming as I am."

I said, "I'm very proud of you."

"I'm proud of myself!"

It's good to see that it looks like Vivian is getting a lot of support from her mom. Right after she turned 18, Vivian filed a name change petition to change both her name and her gender. The hearing is on Friday, June 24, but it's expected to be granted.

In the documents, she wrote that the reason for the name change is because "I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form."

Take good care of yourself and the kids. I don't know you but, I know the Wilson name. Once friends."

Elon Musk Has Been Posting Memes Ever Since The News Broke

In July 2020, the SpaceX founder had once tweeted “pronouns suck,” but deleted the tweet after his then-partner, Canadian musician Grimes, confronted him about it. A few months later, in a series of tweets dated December 2020, the world's richest man, at least according to Forbes, mocked people who listed their pronouns in their online bios.

Musk’s tweet read “when you put he/him in ur bio” alongside a cartoonish picture of a soldier rubbing his bloody hands on his face. The soldier is wearing a hat that says “I love to oppress.”
