Todd & Julie Chrisley Plea With Judge To Lift Travel Restrictions To Travel For Thanksgiving With Kids

Todd & Julie Chrisley are begging a judge presiding over their criminal case to let them leave the state to see their family for Thanksgiving.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the “Chrisley Knows Best” stars are asking a federal judge to temporarily amend the conditions of their release, which prohibits them from traveling outside Georgia.
The two are out on bond get them leave the state and head to Tennessee for Thanksgiving with their children and grandchild.
The motion reads, “This request to temporarily amend the conditions of release related to travel is extremely limited: Defendants respectfully request permission to travel from Nashville, Tennessee to Grand Cayman Island for the period Saturday, November 23, 2019 , through Friday, November 29, 2019, to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with their children and grandchild. The family will be travelling by commercial air and will be staying at a resort condominium. The flight itinerary and housing details will be provided in advance to the supervising Pretrial Services Officer.”
Todd & Julie point out, “As travel to Grand Cayman requires presentation of a valid passport, the Defendants also request that they be permitted to temporarily obtain their passports from Pretrial Services for the purpose of this trip. The passports will be returned to Pretrial Services on Monday, December 2, 2019.”
The reality stars are pleading for the judge to throw them a bone. No decision has been made yet on their motion.
Earlier this year, Todd & Julie were hit with an indictment filed in the Northern District of Georgia. They were charged with 11 counts relating bank fraud and tax evasion.
The indictment claims Todd and Julie set up a production company, called 7C's Productions, to serve as a loan-out company for all the money earned through their popular reality show, "Chrisley Knows Best," which airs on the USA Network.
The prosecutors claim millions of dollars were deposited into the production company account over the years, but the reality stars did not file tax returns in time for 2014, 2015 or 2016.
As part of their release from prison the judge ordered certain terms. Per the terms, Todd and Julie are barred from obtaining any new bank loans or getting extensions from the bank “without approval of probation officer”.
The order also prohibits them from having any contact “with individuals identified by government as witnesses or victims, unless family or employment related.”
The couple were ordered to remain in Georgia and not travel without permission. They both had to surrender their passports in court.
Todd & Julie Chrisley recently filed a lawsuit against a state tax official, accusing the man of abusing his power in an effort to "to aggressively pursue and prosecute bogus tax evasion claims against the Chrisleys."
The reality stars sued Joshua Waites, Director at the Georgia Department of Revenue’s Office of Special Investigations. Todd & Julie accuse Waites of “aggressively” pursuing a relationship with their estranged daughter, Lindsie Chrisley Campbell, to try and “induce her to reveal compromising information” about the family.
