Actor Ben Stiller met with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday in Kyiv as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.

The “Zoolander” actor toured several occupied settlements in the Kyiv region before meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

The "Night at the Museum" actor tweeted, "It was an honour to meet President @ZelenskyyUa on #WorldRefugeeDay as part of my visit with UNHCR @Refugees to stand in solidarity with people forced to flee in Ukraine and worldwide, and bring more attention to the humanitarian situation."

A video of the meeting also surfaced online, with Stiller exclaiming, "You're my hero" upon meeting Ukraine's President.

In a press release put out by Ukraine’s official website, Stiller was accompanied by the UNHCR Representative in Ukraine, Karolina Lindholm Billing. On Monday, they visited the residential areas of Irpin that sat in ruin after talking to residents who had managed to survive the Russian occupation.

Stiller told Zelenskyy, “It's one thing to see this destruction on TV or on social networks. Another thing is to see it all with your own eyes. That's a lot more shocking.”

“What you saw in Irpin is definitely dreadful,” Zelenskyy countered. “But it is even worse to just imagine what is happening in the settlements that are still under temporary occupation in the east.”

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, tweeted, "Grateful to @BenStiller for visiting ?? in such a difficult time and meeting our people. You have a big heart. We Ukrainians do appreciate the support of true friends. Get back to ?? again."

The President and Stiller also discussed the needs of the temporarily displaced residents of Ukraine, as well as those in Poland, which Stiller had visited the day before.

Stiller Met With Families Who Fled Ukraine In Poland

On Father's Day, Ben Stiller headed to the Medyka border in Poland to meet families who have fled the war in Ukraine.

Stiller tweeted, "At the Medyka border in Poland I met families who fled the war in Ukraine, leaving loved ones behind, with no idea when they will be able to return home.

I’m so impressed w/@refugees representatives & how committed they are to supporting people on their journeys."

United States Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget A. Brink, also posted a photo of Stiller. She tweeted, "Good Lviv meeting with @Refugees Goodwill Ambassador @BenStiller, who brings much-needed attention to humanitarian needs during the largest and fastest humanitarian crisis in recent memory."

Stiller responded to her tweet, adding, "Thanks @USAmbKyiv for taking the time to meet to discuss humanitarian needs for the over 12 million displaced people as a result of the war. And much respect for you and your team re opening our U.S Embassy in Kyiv at a very trying time."
