No More 'Ultimatums' for Reality Show Stars Alexis Maloney and Hunter Parr

When Alexis Maloney, 27, gave her boyfriend Hunter Parr, 30, an ultimatum of marrying me or breaking up, he probably didn't realize just how serious she was. After signing them up for the Netflix reality series, "The Ultimatum: Marry Me or Move On," he may have started to see the severity in her words. But now months after the series aired, the days of ultimatums are officially over for the two.

The couple got engaged on the Netflix reality series after just one week of taping during Season 1 last spring and took the plunge into wedded bliss in an outdoor ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel and Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, California on June 18. Maloney told People before the wedding, "It's no longer about Alexis. It's Alexis and Hunter. That's the most exciting thing for me, is we're doing everything together...tough times are going to come, but I have him."

This was no small gathering for the two reality stars with a wedding party of 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen, and 115 friends and family members in attendance. The main themes of the wedding were "traditional flow, live music, a lot of fun, and an open bar," according to Parr. And let's not forget about the live music, which was an important factor for the couple.

"The Ultimatum," from the creators of the popular Netflix reality series, "Love Is Blind," was hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey. The show premiered in April 2022 and featured the journey of six couples standing on the line between marriage and starting over with a new partner. Each couple included one person ready for marriage and one unsure about the long-term commitment of tying the knot.

During the eight weeks of filming, each person had the chance to get to know another person in the group and choose to date them. After agreeing on who will couple up, it was time to move in with their new mate for three weeks. Once the three weeks were up, they had to go back to the partner they arrived with and live with them for three weeks. The premise was to give them a view of life with their current partner and a how life could feel starting over with someone new. After the six weeks, it was time to make a decision on how their future will look and who they were going home with.

Maloney and Parr ended up leaving the show early and not completing the entire challenge of dating other people and living with another partner. Maloney was the one who gave the ultimatum to Parr, and after only a week on of dating other women, he decided he couldn't live without her and proposed to her on the show. Since that was exactly what Maloney was looking for, she wasn't upset that they didn't continue on with the rest of the show.

Now that their new chapter has begun, what's next for the couple? First up, a romantic getaway to Santorini, Mykonos and Athens for their honeymoon. "We wanted to go someplace together that neither of us has been and wanted to go, so we can't wait," Parr told People. "Alexis did an amazing job making sure we got everything detailed out so that when we get there, it's just nothing but relaxation. We don't have to worry about anything." What comes next for the couple is yet to be determined, but since family is important to both of them, children may end up being in their next chapter.

"The Ultimatum" was picked up for a second season with an entirely queer cast. The season 2 premiere date has not yet been released.
