The "Chaos Walking" actress revealed that she had finally finished filming her latest movie on Saturday.
"And that’s a wrap!" Ridley captioned a series of photos documenting her last date on set. "Last day on set for Young Woman and the Sea. It has been tough, but worthwhile, and I think we have made a film to be proud of. So grateful for #TeamTrudy ♥️"
The movie "Young Woman and the Sea" is a take on the real-life story of Gertrude "Trudy" Ederle and is based on the novel of the same name by Glenn Stout.
In 1926, Gertrude became the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel. Ederle was the daughter of a German butcher from Manhattan who became a competitive swimmer that won the gold medal in the 1924 Olympic Games. Ederle first swam 22 miles from Battery Park, New York to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, and set an 81-year record before she eventually attempted to cross the English Channel.

A few days ago, she posted a behind-the-scenes video showing her and her swimming coach preparing for a scene and warming up the way Trudy used to before hitting the water.
“BTS from Young Woman and the Sea. I’d like to think this is how Trudy warmed up before each swim,” she captioned the video, adding, “Moral support by THE John Scotti and swimming coach extraordinaire (and casual Olympian) @siobhanmoconnor95”
The screenplay was adapted by Jeff Nathanson. Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman are signed on as producers. The film also stars the Ninth reincarnation of the Doctor in "Doctor Who" Chris Eccleston, as well as Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Stephen Graham. The film was directed by Joachim Rønning.
