The impact teachers have on the lives of their students isn't a small one. Although they might teach countless children throughout their careers, they still manage to impact everyone distinctly and uniquely.

This was the case with Harry Styles, who stopped his show at the Emirates Old Trafford stadium in Manchester to find his first primary school teacher, who he thought was in attendance. It was, however, no easy task, as there were over 26,000 people at the show.

On Thursday, the "Watermelon Sugar" crooner paused his homecoming concert to pay tribute to his primary school teacher.

"I'm going to ask a favor from you because I'm trying to find someone in the audience," the "As It Was" singer asked his audience at Wednesday's concert.

He added, "So, we're going to get really quiet and I'm going to see if I can locate this person if you don't mind helping me. Ok? Because, my first ever school teacher is here tonight. Her name's Mrs. Vernon, and I believe she is in the crowd."

"Mrs. Vernon is here," he added. "Are you here?"

Footage of this incident, which was shared by CBS and TikTok user GoodiesByJennie, showed Styles walking to the end of the stage and dropping to his knees in gratitude after he thought he had found her.

"How are you? I heard you're retiring. I'd just like to thank you for everything in those formative years and, yeah, thank you so much," he said. "It means a lot to me that you're here tonight."

"Can you imagine dealing with me when I was 4?" he added before dedicating his "Canyon Moon" song to his teacher.

Unfortunately, the person who Styles thought was Ms. Vernon wasn't her. It was her fellow school teacher, Ms. Bailey, who was also shown on the big screen.

Even though she wasn't at the concert, Styles' heartfelt tribute got through to her as Ms. Bailey had called and shared with her a video clip of the exchange.

She told BBC Radio that she was "very emotional" over the tribute, calling it a very "touching and lovely" thing to do.

"I do say thank you to him for doing that and for saying those things, it meant a lot."

She also opened up about how it was like teaching the young singer.

"Harry was a lovely little boy. He was very sweet. He had a little bit of a cheeky side to him, he could be a little bit of a monkey sometimes," she began. "Very sociable and had lots of friends. He loved music, he loved dressing up and all those creative things in the classroom. He was just lovely."

She continued, "As a teacher, you remember all of the children that you've taught, all of them are amazing in their own way. Harry obviously has gone on to mega, mega things—everybody at Hermitage is just so, so proud of him." She reminisced on his delightful nature and how he had "a cheeky sparkle in his eye, he was a little bit of a tinker some of the time but he was a character so that's for sure, we all remember him."
