As lead keyboardist and singer of the rock group Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie told fans that she didn't feel "physically up" to do a goodbye tour. However, they might consider it.

This was after McVie revealed to Rolling Stonthat the band "kind of broke up." This was surprising to fans since they concluded a tour in 2019 after sharing the stage for almost 100 shows.

When asked if they'd ever reunite, the 78-year-old noted that if they ever did, she'd love to see her old bandmate Lindsey Buckingham perform with them again. She also spoke about her relationship with the other band members. Keep reading to learn more about what she had to say.

They Barely Speak

On the band getting back together in the future, she said, "I don't know. It's impossible to say." Though she "couldn't say for sure," they "might get back together." The band mostly included vocalist Steve Nicks, bassist John McVie, drummer Mick Fleetwood, Buckingham, and McVie.

She also noted that their relationship within the band was complicated. Though they've made music and worked together for over 50 years, they barely spoke to each other when they weren't on tour.

However, she assured me that there was no bad blood between them and that they just didn't have a great relationship. Specifically, she and Nicks don't talk at all, and "as we know it," Fleetwood Mac didn't exist anymore.

"Don't communicate with Stevie very much either," McVie said. "When we were on the last tour, we did a lot. We always sat next to each other on the plane and we got on really well. But since the band broke up, I've not been speaking to her at all."

McVie Misses Buckingham

McVie then revealed that she'd be thrilled to have Buckingham back if they got back together.

"I'd always want Lindsey back," she expressed. "He's the best." She then noted that the current guitarists were great but that she had a better relationship with Buckingham. "Neil [Finn] and Mike [Campbell] were such a cheerful couple, but Lindsey was missed."

The former male lead singer and guitarist of the band reportedly left in 2018 following a disagreement about their upcoming tour. In an interview with LA Times, The 72-year-old mentioned that he was asked to leave following a condition Nicks gave the rest of the band members.

He claimed that she asked them to pick between the two of them. Recently, he told People that McVie texted him later to apologize for not defending him. "'I'm really sorry I didn't stand up for you when that happened.'"

Nicks Rebutted His Claim

In response to Buckingham's story, 74-year-old Nicks rebutted the claim that he left because of her. She simply called it a "revisionist history." As reported by Today, her publicist issued this response from her.

She also cleared up the air by saying she "did not demand he be fired." The only thing she admitted to was removing her own self from the band to avoid drama and disagreements.

"Frankly, I fired myself. I proactively removed myself from the band and a situation I considered to be toxic to my well-being. I was done. If the band went on without me, so be it."

McVie Doesn't Feel Well

McVie also revealed in the interview that she didn't feel well. She was sure she could do a final tour but was still considering it. She said, "I'm in quite bad health. I've got a chronic back problem that debilitates me. I stand up to play the piano, so I don't know if I could actually physically do it. As much as she'd want to, she didn't feel physically capable of doing one.

"What's that saying? The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak," she said. "I'm quite happy being at home. I don't know if I ever want to tour again. It's bloody hard work… I'll just leave it open and say that we might."
