Aziz Ansari Ties The Knot In Italy

Aziz Ansari is a married man! The actor and his long-time girlfriend Serena Skov Campbell got hitched in Italy in front of family and friends. The comedian kept it pretty lowkey but we have managed to snag some details about the special day in the northern Italian region.

The Master of None star recently married Campbell, a Swedish forensic scientist. PageSix sources shared that the couple had a beautiful wedding in Tuscany with a guest list of about 120 people. The night was not a star-studded event, Ansari apparently doesn’t get down like that but one noted guest was actor Riz Ahmed.

The newlyweds first met in 2018 and got engaged in December 2021. They are mostly hush-hush regarding their relationship. In fact, judging by the fan's reactions, many were even unaware that the actor was in a serious relationship let alone engaged.

The 39-year-old met Campbell at the least inopportune time in his life. Fans will remember that Ansari was accused of assault by a date. She claimed that she felt forced to undress in front of the actor in a hotel room alone with him.

The #MeToo movement was gaining traction at that time and let’s just say, they went hard on  Ansari. He defended himself by sharing that he misread his dates cues and apologized for making her feel uncomfortable.

This didn’t stop Campbell, who at the time was working at Price Waterhouse Cooper from sparking a relationship with the Parks & Recreation actor.

As we said, not much is known about the wedding including the exact date however, we do know the couple's first public appearance was way back in 2018 at the US Open tennis competition. Ansari announced his engagement on stage during one of his shows at the Comedy Cellar.

Ansari’s last serious relationship was with chef Courtney McBroom. They dated for about two years before breaking up in 2016. When he was asked by Elle magazine back then if he planned on marrying McBroom, Ansari’s answer was shaky.

“There are more and more people who don’t really feel so enraptured by the institution of marriage these days… There are so many more people who are like, ‘Oh yeah, we just went to the courthouse and got this thing done so we get a tax refund.’”

Certainly not the quote from someone who believes that marriage will be a sacred institution to them. Then again they say, sometimes it just takes the right person.

The smartypants new wife of Ansari currently has a private Instagram account but her bio boasts some crazy credentials including her desire to be a “budding astronaut”. She refers to herself as a “danish princess” and she has a Ph.D.  Her display photo is of her doing some crazy-looking equations.

It seems like the comedian caught himself a keeper. Congratulations to the newlyweds. Hopefully, we get some nosey honeymoon shots sooner rather than later.
