Eva Mendes is over the moon about her husband Ryan Gosling's feature as 'Ken' in the upcoming "Barbie" movie adaptation.

As you may know, Gosling, widely known in independent films, and several blockbusters, will star alongside Margot Robbie in the live-action movie directed by Greta Gerwig.

The role got Mendes super excited as she took to Instagram to show fans her sweetheart's first character photo from the film.

The 48-year-old businesswoman shared a colorful picture of her partner as the character 'Ken' wearing a slight smile and leaning on a hot pink pillar.

He could be seen donning a denim ensemble with his hands tucked into his denim trousers' pockets while his open matching vest put his ripped midsection on display.

The bronze-looking Canadian actor with platinum-highlighted hair also wore a pair of white boxers with 'Ken' written on the waistline. The delighted Mendes' caption read:

"So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this…#Thatsmyken" 

Fans expressed the same excitement to see what was to come and noted that it would indeed be a masterpiece with Gosling starring in it.

Fashion stylist Jamie Mizrahi raved about her enthusiasm, adding expressive emojis, while motivational speaker Lizzie Velasquez was so taken with the Mendes' hashtag.

On the other hand, skin and beauty expert Nilam Holmes indicated that the movie looked fun, whereas musician Rita Wilson said the project was "breaking the internet for sure."

Wilson may have been right, as Gosling's fellow star Robbie's 'Barbie' image got quite the reactions after Warner Bros. Pictures shared her first character snap.

The movie's release date, July 21, 2023, was also released alongside another photo of the "Bombshell" actress giving off a classic sixties vibe, rocking a blue-and-white polka dot headband with a matching striped halter blouse.

She also had the signature doll-like straight blonde hair as she was captured bending forward in a pink Chevrolet Corvette convertible with a matching background.

In addition to Gosling and Robbie's involvement in the production, other featured performers include Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, and America Ferrera.

Speaking of the Oscar winner's relationship with his beloved wife, they are rather private about their marriage and family, including their two daughters, 6-year-old Lee and nearly-8-year-old Esmeralda.

Mendes previously opened up about their household system, revealing that Gosling was the cook while she cleaned, which she believed was a "really nice balance."

Their balanced team effort also applied to raising their kids as they did not classify their responsibilities as "gender-specific" even to their girls.

Around the time Gosling got signed to play the 'Ken' character in the upcoming "Barbie" movie, The Blast shared details of the final negotiations and fans' reactions to his role.

The Golden Globe Award winner initially rejected the role due to his busy schedule, but eventually, as pre-production extended, there was an opening, allowing him to sign on.

When he refused the role, sources revealed that the studio remained determined with Gosling being their only pick, and if he signed on, shooting would begin as this year began.

At the time, there were not many details about the production, but since it is the much-loved "Barbie," fans expected it to be mind-blowing.

As for their reactions to the 41-year-old actor's 'Ken' role, a fan noted that the movie star was perfect and "conventionally attractive," but there was something "weird" about his face.

Naturally, several were on Gosling's side as they believed he would be a great character, while some were not so sure about him, compared to his co-star Robbie with her doll-like looks.

Not long before "Barbie" negotiations were in the works, the "Goosebumps" actor spoke candidly in an interview with GQ about parenting with Mendes during the pandemic.

The Blast shared that he admitted that it was challenging for his daughters to be limited by the enforced distancing as they could not meet other kids or family members.

Gosling and Mendes did their best to entertain the youngsters, often performing more times than they could count.

According to the brilliant actor, he and his wife "did more acting in quarantine than we have in our whole careers."

"The Slaughter Rule" star further confessed that the pandemic made him pay more attention to time as his daughters developed rapidly.
