When singer Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra first started dating, most fans of the duo did not have high hopes about them tying the knot due to the differences in their origins and traditions. The twosome, however, has since proven that love is stronger than differences by walking down the aisle on December 1, 2018.
Following their high-profile wedding, which included various distinct ethnic contributions from Chopra's side, the pair have enjoyed a joyful marriage and welcomed their first child early this year.
Jonas is now savoring the joys of fatherhood and has now opened up about the journey to birthing their first child and how he and his partner are navigating the new experience alongside balancing their personal lives and career.
Nick Jonas And Priyanka Chopra On Their Challenges
The singer expressed appreciation in a new interview with People for having their newborn girl, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, finally come home after she had first suffered a health scare following her birth.
The new babe, who was born via surrogacy, had to spend over a 100-days in the neonatal intensive care unit as she was not physically fit to survive on her own at the time, receiving several treatments to build up her immune system.
Jonas described her time in the hospital as "eye-opening," adding how it spurred him to share their story on social media. Furthermore, the pair thought that the world needed to know that, even though one may face difficulties, they are not alone in their struggles.
"It was really important that people know that whatever their journey is or whatever challenges might come up, you're not alone," he said. "The power of social media is that it connects us all and makes this very big world a little bit smaller."
Nick Jonas Is 'Grateful To Have A Teammate In Pri'
The roller coaster of emotions Jonas and Chopra have experienced in recent months has not deterred the duo from juggling their high-profile careers. For the Jonas Brothers star, maintaining such balance was made much easier by having his wife supporting him while he does the same for her.
"[She] was a rock the whole time and continues to be," Jonas added of the Quantico star. "I'm grateful to have a teammate in Pri," he continued.
Chopra also had words of praise about her husband, who is a decade younger than her. She pointed out that she's seen him "create music, write scripts, launch businesses, and many other things while being so present," referencing his unwavering interest in his fatherhood and marriage responsibilities.
"He's a fantastic brother, husband, friend, and father. I'm not sure how I got so fortunate," she added.

When Malti, who is only five months old, grows up, her parents' wealth of acting and singing experiences is a resource she could draw from if she eventually decides to follow in either of their parts.
However, before all that, Chopra and Jonas would want her to learn more essential things like her parents' respective cultures' values and traditions. Jonas opened up about these traditions, sharing many examples of what he would like his daughter to know and adding, "I'm excited to pass that on."
"It's really important to us that our daughter has an upbringing that is representative of our family and the things we love about [my wife's] Indian culture and my American culture," the "Who's In Your Head" singer said to the publication.
Malti's Parents Have Kept Details About Her Private
Following the birth of their daughter, Chopra and Jonas have been very private about her, barely releasing any images, albeit a picture on May 8, of the family of 3, confirming the return of their child to their home.
"After 100 plus days in the NICU, our little girl is finally home," he said at the time. "Every family's journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is. We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home."
"There is no one I'd rather do this with than you. Thank you for making me a mama @nickjonas I love you," said Chopra on her page, where she shared the same picture.
On the social media accounts of the couple, fans sent in overwhelming comments of goodwill messages, wishing them the best as they continue on their parenthood journey.
