Being honored with the highly coveted EGOT is no piece of cake, and American vocalist Jennifer Hudson, still reeling from the recent achievement, can attest to the ‘overwhelming’ feeling.
Her brilliant works in the industry have gained her several accolades, including an Emmy, Oscar, Tony, and two Grammys, making her the second black woman to receive the four major American entertainment awards.
Jennifer Hudson Shares Appreciation Post After EGOT Win
The 40-year-old singer still feels overwhelmed by the EGOT honor and expressed so in one of her latest Instagram posts, showing a video of her with friends celebrating the accomplishment. She wrote in the caption:
“Wow!!! I am overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support that I am Still receiving, and I’m still processing this whole new ground. What an honor!”
Hudson continued writing, “Thank u all for being with me on this journey. I could not live this life without u. Like I said when I won my Oscar, look what God can do. Well, He did it again!”
Thousands of fans congratulated her on the much-deserved accolade, including singer-songwriter Michelle Williams, TV personality Timothy Snell, notable actresses Viola Davis and Taraji P. Henson, storyteller Essence Atkins, and Tony award-winner Melba Moore.
Shortly after the appreciation post, the “Dreamgirls” actress gave fans updates of moments from the Tony Awards ceremony with a number of adorable pictures from Getty Images and her personal collection.
She could be seen posing with the award and beaming at the camera in one of the photos, while another showed her looking ‘overwhelmed.’
Hudson also ensured to take snaps with other performing stars, including Benj Pasek, Myles Frost, Colman Domingo, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jessica Chastain, Jaquel Spivey, RuPaul, and Billy Porter, among others.

Fans could not wait to see an image of her with her EGOT awards as they expressed pride in the star and admitted that they had been waiting for the blessed moment.
Speaking of the “American Idol” star’s Tony award, The Blast recently reported that her production “A Strange Loop” won the best new musical after receiving eleven outstanding nominations.
The Blast previously reported that the Tony awards ceremony was held on Sunday, June 12, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The outlet also detailed past winners of the distinguished EGOT honor from the sixties till now. The list included Richard Rodgers (1962), Helen Hayes (1977), Rita Monero (1977), John Gielgud (1991), and Audrey Hepburn (1993), among others.
The last winner of the awards before Hudson was music composer Alan Menken in 2020, and now the Chicago-born music star is the latest recipient in the elite group.
Hudson did not win the medals immediately after each other as she first bagged an Oscar for the 2007 movie “Dreamgirls” and then received a Grammy for her 2009 self-titled debut studio album.
She later won a Daytime Emmy Award last year for her work on the short animation “Baba Yaga,” which she produced and voice-acted.

In March, The Blast shared that Hudson’s new talk show is produced by Telepictures, known for creating Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime program.
There was a previous recording of a test run of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on DeGeneres’ stage, controlled by executive producers Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly of “Ellen.”
The show was sold to several station groups, with Fox TV Stations eventually sealing the deal among the interested stakeholders.
The “Sex and the City” star’s show will debut on Fox this fall and premiere on Hearst Television with other station syndicates, covering over 60% of the country’s TV providers.
Fans cannot wait to get a feel of the new production, and Hudson blessed them with a teaser of what to expect in the new project that will center on her life’s journey.
She shared, “People from around the world have been part of my journey from the beginning—twenty years ago—and I’m so ready to join their journey as we sit down and talk about the things that inspire and move us all.”
