Remaining friendly with an ex is unheard of for many! Lots of former couples would never give the concept a second thought.
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow, however, are not only all for the idea of remaining in one another's lives, but they are clearly incredibly proud of their friendship!
There's no bad blood here! Pitt and Paltrow were together for three years back in the mid-nineties, evolving from co-workers to something more after the pair starred together in the film "Se7en!" (via Cosmopolitan)

The couple's whirlwind romance gained even more traction after Pitt popped the question in 1996. Unfortunately, Pitt and Paltrow never made it down the aisle, but the former couple clearly hasn't let their broken engagement stand in the way of letting their relationship find a new way to thrive as a friendship.
Nearly three decades after their 1997 split, Pitt and Paltrow recently reunited for an interview centered around the twosome's business collaboration. According to Us Weekly, they are working together on a Goop product; Goop, for those who may be stuck in a nostalgic nineties-fueled cocoon, is Paltrow's lifestyle empire!
The pair's bond was evident when Paltrow shared a memory about her late father, one which also featured Pitt.
"I'll never forget when we were engaged and he came to me one day," she began, "his eyes full of tears, and he said, 'I never really realized what they mean when they say you're gaining a son. Like, I'm gaining a son," the late Bruce Paltrow had said.
How Does Pitt View Their Relationship?

Pitt has warm memories of Mr. Paltrow, and, as evidenced in the pair's interview, those memories don't seem to be influenced by the outcome of his relationship with his daughter.
Pitt went on to give some insight into the long-lasting influence the Paltrow patriarch had on his life. According to the outlet, Pitt still referred to bits and pieces of Mr. Paltrow's view on parenting.
"He carved the way for you guys to be who you are. And I think that's so important to parenting, y'know? So the child is free to find out who they are and what they love and what they don't," Pitt shared. "You guys were just so free in your conversations. And witty. And intelligent. And funny as fu*k," he said.
The warm way in which Pitt and Paltrow remember her father's influence is clear evidence that the pair are perfectly comfortable with the friendship they have fostered over the years. Pitt makes it a point to let his ex-fiancée know how much he values their friendship and Paltrow's current place in his life.
Pitt told her, "It's lovely to have you as a friend now... and I do love you."
Paltrow responded, "I love you so much."
Paltrow married her husband, a fellow Brad, in 2018, four years after the pair had first met, per Us Weekly.
Pitt's marriage to Angelina Jolie came to an end in 2016, after the actress filed for divorce. According to Glamour, Jolie had been the one to end their marriage.
