The appearance of the Jackson siblings turned the Sunday Night show into a family affair, and fans were there for it. Along with Debbie Rowe, the late singer's ex-wife, Prince, and Paris went up to the stage and introduced a performance inspired by the project.

The first part of the intro was done by Prince, who told fans some unknown facts about his father. He admitted that Jackson loved musicals as much as he loved music. "A lot of people seem to think our dad changed popular music forever — and who are we to disagree? But what people may not know is he loved musicals, on film and on the stage."

He continued, "That's why we are so incredibly honored to introduce the night's first nominee for best musical, 'MJ,' which, using many of his iconic hits, looks at the complexities and brilliance of our father's process."

Fans were very excited to see Paris at the award show and on stage since she followed in her father's footsteps and became a musician herself. Elegantly dressed in a pink flowing dress, she beautifully described the upcoming performance.

"This number showcases that creative process as he builds a dance routine, step by unforgettable step, to one of his best loved hits, drawing on some of the influences who helped inspire his signature style," she said.

She then introduced the 22-year-old actor, singer, and pianist Myles Frost who portrayed Jackson in the musical. "So it is our great honor to introduce Tony nominee Myles Frost and the remarkable cast of 'MJ.'"

Alongside the cast, Frost delivered a wowing performance of the 1988 single by Jackson, "Smooth Criminal." Paris was hugging him earlier as he received compliments for portraying Jackson perfectly.

While Prince and Paris were the highlights of the award show, their brother Bigi did not attend. This was no surprise to fans since he is seen as the most private sibling and mostly stays out of the spotlight.

However, he appreciates his dad in his own way. A year ago, he made a rare appearance on an episode of Good Morning Britain a year ago to talk about his father. The interview was filmed at his brother Prince's Halloween party in California.

During the interview, he noted that his father's passion for music and making people happy inspired him to care about climate change. Also, since the environment was important to his father, he would love to use his voice to encourage people to protect the planet.

The musical was written by Lynn Nottage, a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize, and created by Christopher Wheeldon, an award-winning choreographer, and director. The project was also produced in collaboration with Jackson's estate.

It followed a challenging moment in Jackson's life while he was rehearsing for the Dangerous World Tour in 1992. This was also a year before he was accused of sexual assault and harassment. However, nothing about the controversy was highlighted in the musical.

Upon its arrival on Broadway, the musical's website announced the project in a brief write-up. "He is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Now, Michael Jackson's unique and unparalleled artistry has finally arrived on Broadway in a brand-new musical."

"MJ goes beyond the singular moves and signature sound of the star, offering a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson into legendary status," it continued.
