Leah Remini Takes Jab At Tom Cruise Amid 'Top Gun: Maverick' Success

Leah Remini strikes again at Tom Cruise.

The record-breaking actor is making headlines for the success of the movie "Top Gun: Maverick."

Cruise, who was the lead actor in the highly-anticipated sequel, gave a stellar performance as Lt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, one of the Navy's top aviators, who confronts his past while training a young group of pilots to achieve the impossible.

While the world is giving Cruise his flowers and praising him for such a mind-blowing performance, Remini is taking the time to remind society of the "Mission Impossible" actor's controversies involving the Scientology Church.

In a Twitter post shared over the weekend, "The Kings of Queen" actress slammed Cruise. She shared a Facebook post of a woman named Clare Headley, who tried to remind fans of all the negative news surrounding the New York native.

Headley's post began, "glad all you Top Gun fans are enjoying the new movie. Personally, recent posts about this new movie only serve to remind me of Tom Cruise and his crimes against humanity. Extreme you may think?"

She continued, "Destroying families is a crime against humanity. My opinion. Ask yourself when is the last time Tom talked to his only biological daughter, Suri?" Remember Katie Holmes and her extreme efforts to break free of his and Scientology's control?"

Headley accused the "Jack Reacher" star of promoting "a dangerous cult" that destroyed her family and almost cost her life and marriage.

"The same cult that forced me to have two abortions, and which I fled from in 2005 with the clothes on my back and $200 in my pocket, to which they tracked me down, across state lines, to attempt to prevent my escape. Thank God they failed," Headley reminisced.

She swore never to watch any movie of Cruise's or "approve of this scam of a man." Headley assured her followers that Cruise was aware of the abuses the Scientology Church has allegedly perpetrated and even worked with the award-winning actor.

Remini who shared a similar sentiment with Headley reposted her post and wrote,

"Thank you to my friend@claireheadley for your courage. You have continued to speak out despite the non-stop attacks from Scientology. And as Claire says in her post below, Tom Cruise knows exactly what goes on in Scientology. Don’t let the movie star charm fool you."

The post garnered over 3,000 likes and several retweets from many who agreed with the ideology.

Remini is no stranger to slamming the three-time Golden Globe Award winner. As The Blast reported, the actress shared a theory that Cruise was working on converting his daughter Suri to becoming a Scientologist once she becomes an adult.

Remini, who was a member of the religious movement until her controversial exit in 2013, in an interview showered praises on Katie Holmes for leaving the Church of Scientology and taking their daughter along.

As you might know, Cruise and Holmes were married for six years before their divorce in 2012. Opening up about her theory, Remini said:

"Scientology considers Katie a suppressive person which is an enemy and therefore Tom believes, like all Scientologists, that he can’t be connected to Suri. I’m sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older so that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother."

The "Kevin Can Wait" star recalled what she knew of Cruise and Holmes' marriage, saying she was shocked that the "Dawson's Creek" actress had the guts to divorce him because she was so "indoctrinated" in Cruise's world.

In March 2020, Holmes opened up about her divorce from Cruise in an interview, saying, "That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it. We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t know became my friends and helped us out, and that’s what I love about the city."

The award-winning actress explained that the city of New York provided refuge as she went through the difficult divorce, because people were always around to offer a helping hand to her and Suri, who was much younger at the time.
