On Thursday morning, the day that “Jurassic World Dominion” was released in theaters, critics gave the film a 73% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sebastian Zavala Kahn of Cinencuentro wrote, “While it manages to be superficially entertaining—because dinosaurs—and is not without tense moments and a few funny lines of dialogue, it sadly ends up feeling like a cynical, redundant, and ultimately quite disappointing product.” He gave the film a 2/5.

Ard Vijn of ScreenAnarchy gave the film a 3/5, writing, “In the end, it is what it is. If you want dinosaurs, chases and familiar faces, Jurassic World Dominion delivers. If you want some spice, blood and surprise, you'll have to look somewhere else.”

James Marsh of South China Morning Post wrote, “While not Jurassic Park III levels of bad, Dominion concludes not so much with a triumphant roar as the exhausted whimper of a child ready to go home.” He gave the film a 2/5.

Some Of The Negative Reviews Are... Really Negative

One critic said that the movie is "so bad," describing it as "too long, it’s wildly repetitive & the dinosaurs are window dressing for multiple uninteresting, unrelated stories." They noted that "The actors do their best but its all just overindulgent & pointless." They called the movie, "One of, if not the, worst in the franchise."

Another critic said that the movie "ignores the premise it should’ve had from the start, instead synthetically engineering 2 entirely different, uninteresting & hollow stories that it struggles to connect." They criticized some of the special effects, calling a few of them "ropey." They also dubbed the film the worst movie in the franchise.

Another critic called the film a "MASSIVE disappointment." They wrote, "While the film does feature some incredible dinosaur sequences and it is great to see the original cast back on the big screen, the film fails to deliver on what the previous films promise."

Was There ANYONE Who Liked 'Jurassic World Dominion'?

Although a lot of critics called it the "worst" film in the franchise, one critic said it was actually their favorite film of the new trilogy. They wrote, "It’s stuffed w/ thrilling dinosaur encounters & lots more Jeff Goldblum, but it’s also got a great balance of creepy & inventive scenarios w/ some choice nods to what came before." They called it "a solid finale."

Another critic praised Bryce Dallas Howard's performance in the film, saying that she "runs away with the movie -- & new trilogy for that matter." She said that Howard's character, Claire, "experiences one heck of an arc & Howard soars with it."

Given the mixed reactions to the film, fans of the original "Jurassic Park" might enjoy it. People who weren't a big fan of the previous two movies in the "Jurassic World" trilogy might consider waiting for the movie to hit streaming before dropping money on a ticket.
