Shay Mitchell Gives Birth To Her Second Child, A Baby Girl With Partner Matte Babel

Actress Shay Mitchell and her partner Matte Babel have welcomed their second child, a baby girl, together. The beautiful couple already has one child, a 2-year-old daughter named Atlas Noa, and they are pretty excited to expand their pretty little family. 

The "Pretty Little Liars" star confirmed the birth herself while talking to E! News at the BÉIS Motel pop-up at The Grove in Los Angeles. Mitchell and Babel have been together since 2017 and their fans are extremely happy for them. Read on to find out more.

Mitchell attended the travel brand's event on June 4th and spoke to E! News about her recent birth. She said, "I recently just had my second child, and this is why this is all so much sweeter because this is the first time I've actually been outside of the house since having her. It's really special to come and visit my other baby."

She also spoke about her relationship with long-term partner Matte Babel, whom she called a "great" dad. She said, "I think when you find someone who has the same morals as you, it makes parenting a lot easier. It's definitely a partnership. Finding somebody who has similar morals to you is extremely important."

Mitchell and Babel had their first child, a girl named Atlas, in 2019. Mitchell documented her pregnancy and birth and shared them with fans on her YouTube. She also shared an emotional video of her birth that revealed that she went through over 33 hours of labor before Atlas was born. 

The description of her birth video read, "The past nine months have been more than I ever imagined. Pregnancy has been one of the most exciting, challenging, and physically demanding things I've ever done. It's brought a new meaning to family and my partnership with Matte — I've watched my daughter develop and grow and now I'm READY to meet her!."

Earlier in February, Mitchell revealed her pregnancy and explained that she felt that the birth of her second child was connected to her grandmother's death just the week before. She said, "I can't help but think this was the universe's plan all along, knowing I would need other worldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life."

"Yet, this is proof that love, life and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time," she continued, "Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way."

Mitchell was also very open with her followers on her motherhood journey, including a lot of maternity fashion advice and inspirational pieces. In April, she wore a very cute crop top outfit and captioned it, "Pregnant af but make it Y2K." She captioned another picture of her in a semi-sheer green mini dress moment with "Three days later and my feet still hurt." 

Despite dating for over five years and having two kids together, Mitchell has made it clear that she and Babel may never marry. She spoke about it during an interview on E! News' Daily Pop and said, "I don't know if I've done anything in order. I didn't get married before a child. I had a child, didn't get married. I don't really know if that's in the cards of us. I think we both agree, maybe it's just me." 

She explained that there is no pressure in their relationship and said, "I love it. I love the fact that we come home and every day I'm like, 'I choose you and you choose me.' It keeps us on our toes. I'm like, 'Hey, I can walk out. I don't need to go through a lawyer, I can just walk out.' And same with him. It keeps it sexy."

One thing that will definitely happen for their family, according to Mitchell, is enjoying life as a small family of four. She said her greatest joy about being a mom is "watching Atlas be a big sister. It's the coolest thing."
