Metro Boomin Loses Mother In Alleged Murder-Suicide By Her Husband

Record producer Metro Boomin, born Leland Tyler Wayne, recently lost his mother to a murder-suicide committed by her partner. The artist is known as one of hip hop's most famous hit makers, and his musical work with artists like Drake, Future, Kanye West, Migos, The Weeknd, and more.
Aside from his successful career, the 28-year-old is also known for his close relationship with his mother—Leslie Joanne Wayne, who helped him in his musical pursuits. Metro Boomin previously declared her his biggest inspiration and recounted how grateful he was to her.
The producer recently received shocking news which involved the death of his mother, Leslie. Her partner reportedly murdered her on Friday night, and the cops discovered her body just outside Atlanta.
Metro Boomin Mourns The Loss Of His Mother
Metro Boomin is currently in the middle of a horrific family tragedy. The famous producer is reportedly mourning the loss of his mother, who was killed by her husband. The murder occurred on Saturday night, June 4, after which the husband took his own life.

Juicy J tweeted, "Prayers up for Metro Boomin," while DeJ Loaf commented, "Love + Light to you @MetroBoomin." Fans also wished Metro Boomin well and sent their condolences. A Twitter user wrote, "R.I.P. to Trouble & Metro Boomin's mother. Love the A like no other, but the city's going out real said right now." Another asked that Leslie Rest In Peace and called the situation "heartbreaking."
Leslie's Body Was Found Outside Atlanta
Metro Boomin is famous for his talent with songs and has released several hits for well-known artists like Future, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Migos, 21 Savage, Drake, Kanye West, Travis Scott, and several others.
The producer reportedly received news of his mother's passing after cops found her body outside the Atlanta area. According to TMZ, the murder occurred on Friday night, but no further information was supplied.
An autopsy will be conducted on Leslie's body to ascertain the official cause of death. Metro Boomin's family requested privacy while facing this difficult time. The 28-year-old was reportedly really close to his mother, previously describing the mother of four as his biggest inspiration.
Leslie Raised Metro Boomin
Due to the absence of a father figure, Metro Boomin and his three siblings were raised by his mother. She was also one of the first people to notice the young producer's talent in music and did everything she could to help him achieve his goals.
To kick start his career, Leslie reportedly drove Metro Boomin for eight hours from St. Louis to Atlanta so he could collaborate with the artists he'd spoken to online. In an interview with The FADER, the 28-year-old talked about his mom's impact on his life and how grateful he was to her.
He said, "My name is Leland Tyler Wayne. My mom wanted to give me a name where, no matter what I wanted to do, I'd be able to do it. An astronaut. President. Whatever. Leland Wayne." In the same interview, Leslie said, "I knew that he was hurting so much. Which is part of what made me support him so much in the music."

This year alone, Metro Boomin was involved in several projects with artists like Future, Lil Durk, and several others. The producer also recently collaborated with Gunna for his smash hit project, "Drip Season 4Ever." The project included features from rappers like Drake, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, and others.
Besides working with the artist, Metro Boomin was recently vocal about how he felt about the YSL indictment, which had Gunna and Young Thug confined. In a number of tweets he posted on May 13, the producer revealed his disbelief at the attempt of the Fulton County District to use the rapper's lyrics against them.
He wrote, "Using song lyrics to indict n--gas is lame af and a joke. These the same lyrics that have made billions for these corporations over the past decade. I'm waiting now to see who gon step up and use those same resources now that the coin has turned."
Metro Boomin also said that the group wasn't a gang, and they served as a means to help underprivileged black people. "YSL is not a gang and never been a gang fool. YSL is a registered LLC and has provided countless jobs and opportunities for underprivileged black people, and really just all people cause that's how big Thug heart is," he wrote.
