Actor Ray Liotta passed away on May 26 at 67 years old. Liotta was best known for his starring roles in “Goodfellas” and “Field of Dreams.”

According to Deadline, he passed away in his sleep while he shooting the film “Dangerous Waters” in the Dominican Republic. At this time, that is the only information available about his cause of death. Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to Jacy Nittolo.

Many famous friends have been paying tribute to the late actor, including “Heartbreakers” costar Sigourney Weaver.

Sigourney Weaver told PEOPLE that Ray was “a true original” after he passed away. She told the publication, “Ray’s lovesick gangster, Dean, is the real heartbreaker in ‘Heartbreakers.’”

“Loaded with charm and physical ease, Ray was a natural in comedy and just a doll to work with. We had such a good time,” she continued. The 2001 crime romantic-comedy also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Weaver noted that Liotta wasn’t usually known for his sense of humor, but mentioned that he “brought impeccable timing and wit to everything he did.”

She told the publication that Liotta was “a true original and a lovely guy, gone much too soon.”
