Liam Payne Reveals Details Of His Love-Hate Relationship With Zayn Malik

Liam Payne is spilling HIS truth about Zayn Malik.

Who knew he had a pet name for his former bandmate?

During his May 31st sit-down with Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive’ podcast, Liam revealed some hidden truth treasures about One Direction and Malik.

“Dude, do you know, I’ve had an experience with one of your bandmates,” Logan presented to Liam. “And he was fired up.”

Liam replied, “Which bandmate? I reckon I think I already know, but just throw it in the mixer.”

“Our boy Zayn! Ex-bandmate…” Logan shot back.

And here’s a golden nugget of information One D fans didn’t know they needed.

“Wayne… Wayne Malik. Wayne,” Liam said.

Now, it’s unclear why he calls his ex-band mate “Wayne,” or if there is any significance behind the nickname, but it’s fun detail to know nonetheless.

Logan then goes on to talk about his and Jake Pauls’ February 2020 Vegas altercation with Zayn.

Jake and Logan, but more so Jake, got into it with the singer after the Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury II fight.

Things between the guys got nasty when Malik reportedly said he didn’t want to hang with the controversial brothers, which led the Paul bros. to harass him outside his hotel room.

The video shows Logan standing outside Malik’s door, knocking on the door, and trying to convince a very agitated Zayn to come outside and talk to him, whilst his brother Jake, and (in Gigi Hadid's words) 'crew of YouTube groupies' stand back, filming.

In the video you hear Jake yelling outside his door, “My friend, my friend, my friend talk to me for a second.”

On the other side of the door, you hear a very agitated Malik respond, “I don’t want to f***ing talk to you bro.”

You can also hear what appears to be Malik’s then- girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, yelling behind the door, “Please, would you just stop it.”

As you know, Gigi took to Twitter following the altercation and called Zayn a “respectful king.”

“Then she tweeted about ‘Get yourself a respectable man or something like that.’ That one didn’t age well,” Liam joked.

This is an apparent dig at Zayn and Yolanda Hadid’s 2021 physical altercation.

He continued to explain, “There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn, and many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side. If I had had to go through what he went through… through his growth and whatever else…”

He asked Jake about his parents and their support they’ve given him throughout his career. He also notes his own parents are supportive to the point of annoyance.

“Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense and you can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘Ah yea, whatever. That guy’s a d**k.’ But at the end of the day when you understand what he’s been through to get to that point or even if he wanted to be there,” Liam said. “I can’t sit here and d**k on him because of whatever. And listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions, I can’t commend some of the things he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that.”

However, Liam suggests he’s just a phone call away should Zayn ever need anything.

“What I can say is I understand and I hope that, your only hope is that at some point in their life the person on the other end of the phone wants to receive the help you’re willing to give them,” he said before moving on to another topic.

Liam received mad backlash online for his comments.

“Liam Payne and Logan Paul talking ab 'zayn being a rude guy' as if one of them didn’t film dead ppl and the other literally just cheated on his fiancé and got caught because of a picture, like love that is embarrassing stop embarrassing yourself,” one aggravated Zayn fan tweeted.

“What’s mostly unforgivable to me about what Liam Payne did is that Zayn is a very private person. He doesn’t like to do interviews or shows because of that. Liam should have refrained from commenting out of respect for his friend instead of trying to say shit about his upbringing,” another wrote.
