Liam Payne Reveals Wild One Direction Story Never Before Heard!

Liam Payne is serving up the One Direction goods fans never even knew existed!

The singer stopped by Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast recently and dished about his One Direction days.

Now, any One D fanatic may think they know EVERYTHING there is to know about the former boy band.

But there is one story that’s never been told about the inception of the British pop band that Payne revealed on the podcast.

As fans of Payne know, he was on “The X Factor” two years before One Direction made their debut and won the singing competition show.

The “Strip That Down” singer auditioned in 2008 and made it to the top 24 contestants. He was about 13-14 years old at the time.

Sadly, Payne did not make it past this point and Simon Cowell sent him home, but not before he told the singer to come back to the show in two years after he got his education.

The father-of-one revealed to Logan and the “Impaulsive” crew, “I spent two years of my life going around singing everywhere from stadiums to old people’s homes to pubs, like whatever.”

There was a point Payne was making so much money as a young solo artist, he didn’t know what to do with it all.

But just as quickly as he made money, he also lost it.

He explained, “I’ve seen fame go up and I’ve been in places where I’ve been ridiculed.”

At 15-years-old, while he was in between ‘X Factor’ auditions, he explained he was at a McDonald’s with a girl and was called an “X Factor reject.”

Fast forward to 2010, he goes back on the competition show, but given he had already been on the show previously, Payne became everyone’s nemesis at boot camp.

“We [One Direction] got kicked off, all of us. Me and Niall were about to get the train in Houston and this lady was like, ‘Please come back the judges want to speak to you,’” he explained. “And they had already done this to me once, so I was like, ‘Are you going to mess with my emotions some more? I’m already crazy enough, thank you very much.’”

Upon arriving back to ‘X Factor,’ Payne explained. “They [judges] stood there and picked us out and they picked a girl band out at the same time and from what I’ve heard is that like, part of the reason One Direction was made was because of Simon’s promise to me; ‘In two years I’ll make this work for you.’ So, he kind of started with my face and worked around the others. I’ve never told this story before.”

Logan responded by saying, “You were the inception.”

“I was the honorary member of One Direction, yes,” Payne admitted. “And he’s [Simon] told me that story himself in his house.”

Here’s the even crazier part.

Payne asked Simon and the judges for five minutes to decide if he wanted to be in One Direction

“I went outside and called my dad. I was like, ‘Dad, this is weird. I just told you I’m out, but they want to put me in a boy band. What do you think about it? And he said, ‘You can be 100% of nothing or one-fifth of something.’ Hm, very clever Geoffrey,” he explained.
