On Friday, a Los Angeles judge decided to dismiss a criminal case against the 35-year-old actor. In 2020, he had been charged with misdemeanor battery and petty theft from a verbal altercation that occurred approximately two years ago. At the time, Shia was accused of taking a man’s hat. It turned into a verbal altercation that then turned physical. The “Transformers” actor had agreed to take part in a 12-month diversion program in exchange for the charges being dropped.

The “Honey Boy” actor has completed the program and those charges have indeed been dropped.

Since that time, the “Holes” child star was ordered to participate in at least one therapy session per week. These sessions reportedly addressed his struggles with anger management. The “Lawless” actor was also required to regularly use an alcohol-monitoring device that regularly tested for alcohol intake. In addition to participating in a 12-step program, the City Attorney’s Office said that “The Peanut Butter Falcon” star was also not allowed to engage in any type of violence or physical force.

As The Blast reported earlier this month, Shia is still in trouble with his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs. Twigs’ real name is Tahliah Barnett, and she recently won a minor victory in her sexual battery case against the former Disney Channel actor.

In December 2020, Barnett had sued him for inflicting physical, emotional, and mental abuse on her during their relationship, which lasted only for about a year. According to the New York Times, she had accused Shia of sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress in her lawsuit.

Many have noticed that her accusations are similar to those of Karolyn Pho, who also used to date the “Maniac” actor. Pho had accused Shia of pinning her to a bed and head butting her when he was allegedly intoxicated.

According to a new report by the Rolling Stones, Twigs will get to see Shia again in court next year. The court scheduled her hearing for April 17, 2023. At that time, Twigs will get to appear before a jury to repeat her claims of sexual battery, assault, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress that she alleges Shia did to her in 2020.

In a hearing held earlier this month, Twigs’ lawyer Bryan Freedman told the Rolling Stone that Shia had been “gaslighting” the British pop star.

“The gaslighting has gone on long enough here,” he told the publication. “It’s time to hold Shia LaBeouf accountable.” He added, “My client wants a trial date.”

The two had met while they filmed the movie “Honey Boy” together in 2018. According to her 2020 lawsuit, Twigs alleged that Shia “threw Tahliah against the car and attempted to strange her violently while screaming in her face.”

According to another allegation, Shia threw her to the ground outside of a hotel that the pair had traveled to for Valentine’s Day. On the drive home, Twigs said that Shia was driving the car “maniacally” and threatened “to crash the car unless Tahliah professed her eternal love for him.”

Shortly after the allegations surfaced, Shia reportedly sent an email to the New York Times where he denied the allegations of abuse against him.

“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations,” Shia wrote at the time. “I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
