Kanye West is back at it again!
Days after making his comeback to social media after months-long hiatus, the rapper has revived his custody war with estranged wife Kim Kardashian and he is using his latest song to throw quite the shade!
On Thursday, Ye dropped a new single titled “True Love” featuring vocals from the late XXXTentacion and he dropped some tea about his co-parenting situation with Kim.
Kanye West Says Kids Are ‘Borrowed’ Whenever He Picks Them Up
The 2-minute 28-second song begins with XXXTentacion singing, “True love shouldn’t be this complicated. Thought I’d die in your arms,” before Ye starts shooting bars about his displeasure with the custody schedule.
“Wait, when you see the kids? I’ll see y’all tomorrow. Wait, when the sunset? I see y’all tomorrow Wait, when I pick ’em up, I feel like they borrowed. When I gotta return them, scan ’em like a bar code,” the Yeezy founder raps.
As you might know, in the first quarter of 2022, Ye went on an Instagram rant spree where he opened up about his troubles with Kim and how she was keeping him from seeing their four kids, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
The “Praise God” rapper levied several accusations against his estranged spouse including keeping him from attending daughter Chicago’s birthday party and making him undergo a drug test whenever he is in the house.
He also bashed the SKIMS founder for stopping North from attending his “Donda 2” listening party in Miami as well as his famous Sunday Service.
Ye often slammed Kim for not giving him access to their children in Instagram posts and in one of those occasions, the “KUWTK” alum clapped back, writing, “please stop with this narrative, you were just here this morning picking up the kids for school.”
The former lovers also squabbled over their eldest daughter North’s presence on TikTok with Ye lamenting that he didn’t want the 8-year-old on the social media platform, but Kim not yielding to his request.
Kim Refused To Dress The Kids In Yeezy?
The song continues with Ye tackling other issues faced while co-parenting with Kim.
“Wait, no hard feelings, but these feelings hard though. Wait, who got our kids in some, “What are those?” Wait, why they can’t wear Yeezys with the cargos? Y’all know Nike don’t like me, y’all take it too far though,” the multiple Grammy Award-winning artist rapped.
It is no news that Ye and the multinational sportswear brand Nike had a dispute over finances. Hence, he accuses Kim of choosing Nike outfits over his own brand, Yeezy.
Ye then turns his attention to his youngest daughter Chicago, asking, “At least have ’em in some Mike’s, he played for Chicago.
I only see three kids, who watchin’ Chicago? And you know all the nannies said, “Daddy in Nebraska”
The Georgia native urges his children to “dig a tunnel to my house like Chapo” and promises that his door would be the only one in the neighborhood they can always knock on.
Ye concludes his song, assuring his children that “daddy’s not gone” and they will “see the light on.”
Ye’s Fourth Attorney Steps Down
The rapper’s latest jab at his estranged wife comes a day after The Blast reported that Ye’s high-profile attorney Samantha Spector filed a lawsuit to withdraw from his ongoing divorce battle with Kim.
We broke the news that Spector cited an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship as the reason for the ended collaboration.
Spector is an A-list lawyer who has handled a number of high-profile celebrity cases including Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, so her absence from the divorce case spells trouble for the famous rapper.
Nevertheless, Ye has replaced Spector with one of his other lawyers who is an out of the state attorney from Pennsylvania and not a divorce attorney.
