Actor Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard continue to make headlines as the trial approaches closing arguments on Friday.
The couple has been facing each other at the Fairfax County Circuit Court for most of the past month. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor. Although she did not mention Depp by name, he claims that he has lost movie roles due to the “clear implication” that he was her abuser. Heard claims that she has also been losing out on movie roles, including several scenes from the upcoming “Aquaman” sequel, and is countersuing for $100 million dollars.
On Monday, Depp was supposed to be called to the stand by Heard's legal team. However, they later changed their minds and Depp will not testify. However, Depp's team is expected to call Kate Moss to the stand on Wednesday.
At the start of the day, Depp's legal team moved to reject Heard's counterclaim. However, their motion was denied. The President of DC Films then testified that Heard's role was never reduced in the "Aquaman" sequel.
Doug Bania Comments On Amber Heard Hashtags
Doug Bania testified that there was no causation or correlation between the Amber Heard hashtags and said that they did not significantly increase after Mr. Waldman made the defamatory statements calling Heard's abuse allegations a "hoax."
Under cross-examination, Bania admitted that he only used quotes with the terms "abuse hoax." Therefore, if there were two spaces between the words, or if a person tweeted "faked abuse," Bania admitted that the search would not come up. He also testified that Mr. Waldman's statement was too long to fit into a single tweet.
Bania testified that he did not know that Mr. Waldman was banned from Twitter for life for reportedly "harassing" Amber Heard.
Hicksville Trailer Palace Former Owner Takes The Stand
On Tuesday afternoon, Depp's legal team called rebuttal witness Morgan Night, who had previously owned the Hicksville trailer park.
When he was giving them the tour of the trailer, he said that Depp was friendly and that Heard was quiet and did not say much. He said that they arrived with ten to twelve people. He testified that Depp had rented out the entire trailer park, even though there were only twelve people there.
He also testified that there was a security guard in attendance that previously testified in the trial, as well as Heard's sister, Whitney.

Night said that he was with Depp forty-five minutes to an hour total. He said that Depp was "off by himself a lot of the time" and said that Heard "seemed to be having a good time" at the campfire with her friends.
He said that "everyone was in a pretty good mood" until Depp and Heard had an argument. He said they went to talk "off to the side." He told the jury that Heard was "yelling at him."
He said that Depp was "cowering" and "seemed almost afraid." He said that it was "strange to see because he was older than her, obviously."
He testified that he did not see people drink alcohol, but testified that Depp seemed intoxicated. He said that Depp was "much less sharp than he was earlier in the night" and noticed that his head would "sway." Night testified that Heard also seemed intoxicated. He said that he did not see anyone imbibe drugs.
He estimated that around 3 AM everyone went to bed. The next morning, he went to the trailer to inspect the damage and said a light sconce was broken. He testified that nothing else in the trailer was broken.
Night said that he was not a fan of Johnny Depp under cross-examination. Night responded to "The Umbrella Guy" on Twitter, which led Depp's attorneys to contact him and ask him to testify. In a tweet with "The Umbrella Guy," Night had tweeted that he was there "all night" and said that Heard was the one "acting all jealous and crazy."
Bredehoft pointed out that Night is also an aspiring filmmaker, and Depp's first wife worked as a make-up artist on his first movie.
Correspondent Sierra Gillespie pulled up screenshots of the tweets in question:

The Umbrella Guy tweeted shortly after, saying "Amber Heards team is TALKING ABOUT ME. I got an ENTIRE SECTION in this trial! I'm defendants exhibit 1903."

Update: Morgan Night testified under oath that he does not follow a Johnny Depp fan account. He insisted that he did not follow a Johnny Depp account when repeatedly questioned and reminded that he was under oath. He does, in fact, reportedly follow an account called Johnny Depp fans at the time of this writing.
