"Fast & Furious" star Elsa Pataky opens up about what it felt like working with her husband of more than 10 years, Chris Hemsworth, on the new action movie "Interceptor."
Pataky and Hemsworth made their debut as a couple in 2010 and married the same year, during the Christmas holidays. They have three kids together; a 10-year-old daughter and 8-year-old twin boys.
Although the couple is known for starring in individual blockbuster productions, their joint involvement in "Interceptor" had Pataky making an interesting revelation about working with her husband.
Elsa Pataky Says Her Husband Chris Hemsworth Was Bossy And Supportive
The Spanish model recently had a sit-down on "The Project," where she talked about working on her newest feature in the action movie, detailing the amount of training involved for her character.
She also shared her experience with Hemsworth as the movie's executive producer, jokingly saying he was "so bossy and pretty supportive."
With the extensive knowledge the "Thor" actor had in combat productions, he was able to assist his spouse in directing her posture appropriately and encouraging her after reading the movie scripts.
As a major heroic character who tries to save the world from a nuclear attack in the action-filled movie, Pataky admitted that there were lots of drills involved, plus she was aware of how much work such type of film required.
She said she had seen how hard her husband worked in action movies and went on to describe what her training entailed.
The 45-year-old said, "We started like five months with like full-on military training and then like uh we just started with all the training for the fight which is like the six fights in the movie more or less like 800 moves that you have to memorize."
She compared the routine to a choreography that had to be repeated regularly for up to four hours daily. But unlike choreography, one wrong step in her training could result in a punch to the face.
The cast members had to memorize the moves correctly, as missing one step would require them to start the training again.
One of the show's hosts asked Pataky how fun it was to be an action hero, and she admitted that it was loads of fun, just like watching an action movie.
She added that despite the challenges like being tired at the end of the day, she enjoyed the "whole process" of the production, and her love for combat films got her going.
The blonde-haired beauty shared, "I grew up watching these movies, I grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies with my dad, and I always wanted to be that female Indiana Jones."
Another presenter wanted to know how she and her husband handled their differences while working together, and Pataky said it was like marriage whereby they eventually worked things out amicably.
She further revealed that she almost threatened him to get her the role in "Interceptor" as she already had set her sights on it.
The celebrity couple's marriage of over a decade has not always been perfect, and Pataky previously revealed how they made their union work.
The Blast reported that she told Sunday Life three months after their tenth wedding anniversary how vital communication and understanding were in a marriage and spending time without the kids. The mother-of-three shared about marriage:
"It requires patience, understanding, a lot of conversation, getting to know the other person, to know yourself and what you do wrong. It is not letting one's pride get in the way."
Details Of The "Snakes On A Plane" Actress And Her Spouse's Romance Timeline
US Magazine detailed Pataky and Hemsworth's love story, from their brief dating period to tying the knot less than a year after their romantic involvement began.
The twosome made their red carpet debut in Los Angeles at a LACMA occasion, after which they decided to get married, with no "great plan" attached to the decision.
The "Snow White and the Huntsman" actor told "Good Morning Britain" in 2016 that they were on holiday when they thought of getting married, and even without prior planning, it all worked out.
He revealed that both of their families were with them at the same time coincidentally, and they felt it was "a good opportunity" to get hitched with the whole group together.
The "Giallo" actress and the Australian producer joyfully fulfilled their marriage desire. Afterward, they expanded their family by welcoming their first bundle of joy in May 2012 and two adorable twins in March 2014.
