She wrote, "Almost every day I have been to the gym in the last 6 weeks. Turns out that I only lost one pound of fat and gained one pound of muscle.. throw away your scales, ladies because they don't mean s--t. As long as YOU feel better and u like the way you look, that's all that matters."
In the follow-up post, the "Babysitter" actress added, "FORGET THE SCALE F--K THE SCALE." The 24-year-old previously shared her workout routine in her Instagram story. One of the many intense workouts included an ab program with a medicine ball. The video was captioned, "3 sets of in f--kkkkk."
Fans' Response To Thorne's Post
Twitter users who followed the former child star shared their own experiences with scales and being discouraged while working out. One wrote, "Facts one thing I struggle with when I have been on a diet in the past I would get to fixated on the number on the scales it was bad I would then not want to eat cause I was seeing no difference that's why I will never go on a scales again."
"Those scales can be discouraging if you feel like you haven't made any progress. Every time I run, I feel like I'm losing weight, yet I always look the same. Just wish that exercise is more encouraged for health rather than for appearance," another posted.
A follower commented, "I've started going to the gym again, BUT this time I'm not weighing myself. I've damaged my mind with the scale so many times, I ain't doing that anymore. Now all I care about is feeling good in my skin." Comments like this and many others flooded the "Shake It Up" star's post.
Thorne Said She Wanted To Be 'Healthier' This Year
The actress's zeal in the gym can be traced to her New Year's resolutions for 2022, which she posted on her Instagram page. She revealed that she wanted to strive for more this year and encouraged her followers to do the same.
The 24-year-old wrote, "Stop saying 'I wanna.' Start saying, 'I will.' I will be healthier this year. I will take more care of my body. I will drink more water. I will pay more attention to my negative mental habits. I will work to change those. I will stop judging myself so harshly. I will be happy."
Thorne continued, adding that she "push her limits" and "challenge" herself. "I will work to understand what pushes my artist creativity further into abyss. I will take more time off; I will take more time for myself, to enjoy myself, to enjoy the person I am today; I will not just think about tomorrow or the next day or the next 5 years… I will not let my yearning for more do my soul injustice," she added. Bella Thorne Founded A Cannabis Company
Thorne launched a cannabis company called "Forbidden Flowers," where she partnered with other weed growers in California. According to the actress, she wanted to rebrand the plant from something viewed as illicit and bad to a source of self-empowerment.
In an interview with Cannabis Now, Thorne revealed that she started smoking cannabis early to curb her anxiety, and it helped her. "It completely changed my life. I was coming to this point where doctors were putting me on pills, and I was so young."
While her mother didn't initially support the move, Thorne revealed that she saw how much the drug helped her and came around. The 24-year-old continued, "[She] has seen me where the symptoms really start to come on, I get upset, and my breath gets really tight. She sees me smoking weed, sees what a capable human I am, and she gets it."
