The New York 14th District representative tweeted, “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special."

Musk, who had been getting in a lot of online feuds about his $44 billion offer to purchase Twitter, thought AOC was referring to him.

Responding to her tweet, he wrote, "Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy ☺️," but AOC immediately cleared the air, replying, "I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok."

The politician's savage response caused an uproar and was immediately deleted, alongside the original parent tweet.
